I run around with a spray bottle of bleach and paper towels trying to keep up with my neverending spraying kitty. He has a clean litter box and also a dog run to go out into (there are no dogs around anymore). Is there a smell that repels cats (someone said lemon?). Please help as soon as possible (he even spayed my curtains) Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thankyou

Know how you feel, Vets charged outrageous prices these days. It's CrAzY to say the least.
I don't believe there is anyway to stop him from spraying other than neautering him, Sorry.
Once fixed thou, he will/should make a great pet.
Good luck, God bless

Unfortunately the only way to stop him from spraying is having him neutered. Spraying is different from peeing and how clean the box is makes no difference. He is claiming the house as his territory. Even after neutering he may still spray but the smell won't be there anymore. You might want to call you local shelter and ask if they know of any low cost spay and neuter programs in your area. They should have a list. In my area they have a mobile clinic that goes around and you can have a male cat fixed for only $5 and get his shots for only $3!!! Best of luck to you.

Every state has SOME low cost neuter/spay groups where it can be as low as $10 (Chicago) or at high as $40 when a normal vet would charge $90 to $120 for a male. Start calling around--call the shelter, the different vets, cat groups, and ask about low cost neutering. Yours won't stop spraying till he's neutered, and depending on how established his spraying is in his head, he may keep doing it even after his testosterone levels drop and stabalize (about a month after neutering).

There's no sense waiting on this.

I had the same problem!! Cats HATE water so when your cat sprays in the house spray him with water!! If you do this every single time he sprays he will eventually asociate sraying with him being sprayed with water, and will eventually stop!! but some cats just HAVE to do it so why wont you let your cat outside sometimes so he can spray the plants.

Another alternative:

He 9your cat) sprays stuff to mark his teritory so u should start just rubbing a bit of some kind of scent on you and then put the same scent all over the house so that he will relise that this is YOUR teritory and that there is no point spraying!!

hope I have helped!!

Not a whole lot you can do. If you wait to long before getting him neutered even that won't help.
I have a cat that was neutered when he was a kitten but he still sprays, but only when he's outside. He's around 14 yrs. old.
Are you able to let him outside. That might help.
