Is there any real argument to suggest that large or aggression prone breeds continue to be bred?

We really want to get another dog but we're afraid our dog will feel left out or unloved. But we want someone for him to play with when everyone's gone. We wanted a golden retriever because they're very friendly but we're afraid it'll be to rough with such a small dog. Should we just get another dachshund? I just don't want him to feel unloved. Anyone else ever had a problem like this? Please share your thoughts. Thanx! :-D

Along with them in the tank are about 25 other fish that vary from loaches to sharks and plecos. I have been treating the tank for over 6 weeks with CopperSafe. I have also raised the temp and cut the light time. I also do have alot of aeration in the tank. I have not noticed any decrease in the spots, nor an increase. None of the other fish have gotten spots on them either. What is going on here? If its Ich it should be dead by now or at least the other fish should have gotten it. Wondering if it could be something thats under their skin, or just air bubbles. They look to be more clear than white, but they also appear to be somewhat under the skin. Iam completely puzzled. HELP !!!!!

i would love to have one of these but i would (before spending money and accidently killing it) would like to learn about them i know theyr saltwater fish and need a minimun of 30 gallong tank but.....what other eccential things must i now

I have two dogs and the smallest of the two won't let the other one near me without a fight...seems he's the boss....he can get a more than nasty at times and made my other dogs nose bleed on the last attack....Whats the best way to deal with this...the boss is a Jack russel terrier and the weaker one is a labrador....I scold the terrier everytime but he still does it..

i know with dogs you're supposed to be dominant over them by making them walk beside you and everything, but if you are "dominant" over your dog, does it really have any beifits or is it all crap. i dont do anything dominance related with my dog and she acts very well behaved. she is only 1

He is a 2 1/2 year old weimrainer. Even if we keep him awake all day, lots of exercise, etc. he still wakes us up with his whining at the crack of dawn. If we don't get up within 5 or 10 minutes, he starts jumping onto the bed. What can I do to help him sleep just a little longer/later?

I left this moring for a job interview and my 1 year old pom. seemed to be fine. Nothing out of the ordinary. Well, when i got home 2 hours later he was very sick. He can not stand for more then just a few seconds before his feet buckle under him. He looks miserable and is NOT acting like himself. I took him to the vet and he game my dog a shot of steroids and that was all. No diagnoses or anything.

Has anyone had a similar situation happen with their dog? What was the outcome? Thanks!

I have a 4 year old female weimaraner and just recently, as I was petting her, I found out the bottom of her ears were very swollen. Yes, they do feel warm and seem red (hard to tell however). I've checked all the sites and the only things I found were allergic reactions, bug bites, and aural hematomas. Both of her ears are swollen, so it is only an allergic reaction that seems possible. She hasn't had this before and we've never had a dog in this situation. So can anyone possibly give another diagnosis or some tips to reduce the swelling (I think my dad will put a cold compress on her soon). We can't take her to her vet yet, so it would be great if anyone could help.

i'll hold the treat over his head and say up he'll stand on his hind legs but he'll grab and i dont want that to happen i just want him to stand on his hind legs so how do i make him stand on his hind legs while holding a treat over him without him trying to reach for it or grab it??

also when he grabs for it i'll say no and try it again, after a minute he'll walk away wut shold i do

My rat never used to bite me. She would kind of nibble my fingers very very lightly but just as a loving thing because she would lick me after. But now whenever I put her on my shoulder (she doesn't mind this) she starts to nip at my chin and cheeks, never breaking skin but still, it hurts. She did this a week ago but then stopped and now she is at it again. What is wrong?

My family found a stray cat a couple of years ago, near Halloween, so it seemed fitting to name him Halloween. Of course, he was already neutered, so we started calling HIM Holly... Thinking it was a female... Anyways, he lives mostly indoors, although he goes outdoors sometimes when it's not so hot. Next month will be my thirteenth birthday, and since my dog favors my mom and older sister, and Holly favors my little sister, I really wanted a kitten from my horseback riding instructor's litter. I fell in love with them. Unfortunately, the kitten I REALLY fell in love with is a male. I nicknamed him Hi5er, because when you touch his paw he gives you a "high five." Holly has never been around other cats since we've had him. I think he could definitely get used to a new kitten, but what about a male? Please don't answer "Sorry, I don't know" or anything of the sort, because this is Yahoo ANSWERS, made for people who have questions and know answers. Thanks so much!

My dogs sleep with me and they are both female. They are potty trained, I let them in from outside in the evenings to go to bed only to find that one of them has peed IN the bed. I thought they weren't soposed to pee where they sleep???!! i don't know which one is doing it, because obviously I can't ask them, so what is going on here?
