He's got a plastic collar on, but he can still reach his stitches. He's crying quite a bit, and I don't know how to help him. The guilt is huge.

My cat, Kira Bean, is about 11 months old and she loves to drink baby oil. We aren't giving it to her at all and try to keep it away from her as much as possible, but if we use it on ourselves she comes running and trying to lick it off. I'm just wondering if it's normal and if it's really bad for her. Thanks!

I know it seems crazy that this has gone on for so long but I guess I have adjusted. However, I know that this distrupts my sleep and makes me groggy during the day. I moved into a studio several months ago so I can no longer lock him out of my room. I have tried feeding him late at night and squirting him with a watergun when he wakes me but he seems to think it is a game. And now, get this, he wakes me when there is still food in his bowl from the night before! He is the love of my life but this is getting to be too much.

I have a shih tzu that is my dog (11 months) who lives in the house. My bf's Bull Mastiff (2 yrs) lives outside (always has..) the shih tzu has known the mastiff his whole life....

When the Mastiff comes inside, the shih tzu starts jumping on him and sometimes biting/tugging the mastiff's ear... never barking, but sometimes very quiet growling... the mastiff usually just lays there and takes it or swats the shih tzu w/ his paws.....

is this playing or is it showing dominance over the house?
should i try to stop the shih tzu from "torturing" the mastiff or is it all in fun?

My 5 month old Yorkie always swallows his food! When I give him a biscuit, it takes him a good 4minutes to chew through the whole thing. And when I feed him his kibbles, he always swallows it and finishes it in less than 2minutes. So far, I've been soaking his kibbles in water and that's how he's been eating his food for two weeks. For breakfast he gets it soaked, lunch I've changed to hard kibbles now so he has time to practice chewing, and dinner he gets it soaked. Is this normal? What should I do? My mom wants me to change his food to smaller kibbles but won't that encourage his swallowing?

He doesn't mind chewing on stuffed animals, his edible nylabone, hard plastic baby keys, rawhides, etc.

P.S. He's healthy & I'm feeding him the right amount of kibbles for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Ever since I got him, he's been gaining weight. He's now a good 10 pounds and he'll only get bigger. He's not a tea cup Yorkie, when we got him we were told his parents were big Yorkies!

i have a small, fenceless arena (we havnt bought fenceing for it yet, and it probly wont happen any time soon) and i practice pleasure with my western horse. my horse pays pretty good attention to me untill we're facing the barn, or passing by it. then he speeds up and looses his almost perfect head set, or he side steps toward the barn and over-reacts to every little move i make. someone said to get a crop or riding whip and some spurs to tell him who's boss, but i dont want to resort to being so forcefull and mean. how do i get him to focus on me and what im trying to teach him, instead of thinking constantly about the barn and his friends?

I walk a 4-year-old German Shepherd female. She lives with some old people that can't walk her, and I walk her once a day for 25 minutes.

The problem is, whenever she sees another dog, she barks and barks and barks! She jumps and lunges too. In the park, when she meets another dog she's only a bit aggressive in playing. Other dogs and dog owners are scared of her, and though I try to discipline her (a tug on her chain, a firm no, even a little shove), she may shut up but she keeps on doing it when she sees another dog. I don't think she means any harm at all; she's excitable.

Does anyone have any suggestions for how to stop her barking? Any methods or products you use (not on the expensive side, please)? Thanks!

We have a dog (Australian Shepherd) who barks at the thunder. We would like to teach him to not bark during the storm. We have tried disciplining him with a slight tap on the head or nose when he barks, but that just makes it worse. Do you have any other ideas? Thanks

we recently lost a dog, and now molly, our great dane mearle is moderatly lonley, and her urine has been increasingly been giving off an oduor of fish... now as this is a pungent smell i though i could takle it by making her drink more water, i belive this will sort the porblem, however, this raises an obsicle, molly who is a lazy dog, doesnt really drink a lot anyway, how could i make her drink more, what would be a good incentive? sleeping on my bed @ night? she already does this anyway...

sorry for the long question, how can i resolve this problem?

I am taking care of a cokerspaniel for my friend. She was really nice at first, but when my 4 year old brother tried to pet her, she growled and bit him! I held her muzzle so my brother could try again, an she was fine. then I told him to pet her without my hand on her muzzle, and she was eying him the whole time. then she attacked him. He is ok, though. My 2 year old sister has also been bit by her. My siblings have never even seen the dog before and she is acting like they are trying to hurt her. Is there anyway to make her stop without hurting my siblings?

Only recently, late at night, my dog has been whining. She isn't a puppy and she only does it when there is a bone in her mouth. She sleeps in my bed, so she'll eat her bone in there. She'll look at the bed with the bone in her mouth and whine very softly. I give her plenty of attention and she doesn't do this durning the day, so I'm not really worried about what it is, just curious. She's always had a habit of hiding her bones in my blankets and I think that may have something to do with it. I just don't know how to help her.

One of my boarded horses urinates & defecates frequently right under the awning where all the shade is and the horses like to stand. This is also where the water buckets are. She is the Alpha mare. Why does she do this and more impotantly how can I get her to move to a different location? She is the only horse that does this in the area, everyone else goes out in the field!!

I've had tropical fish for a loooooong time now, and as I'm sure anyone know's who has them, the Danio's are incredibly active! But i'm starting to find now that they keep attempting to jump out of the water - just before as I was changing the tank light, one managed to jump out! And at nights, I keep hearing the splashing sound from under the hood (tank is in bedroom).

My own idea was that maybe the water temperature was too high - I know that when fish do feel the heat, they do get tempted to jump out of the water.
But if anyone has any other ideas, then pleeease tell me! And what expieriences have you had with the danio's? I've currently got a shoal of Leapord D's, Rummy nosed tetras, neon tetra's, and some orange platty's (why do they produce som much poo?)

Thanks guys!

I have an oscar pretty good size in a large tank. He has a dino eel and pleco with him. My question is how do I tell if it is a male or female? Can I get it a mate after being without one for so long. He is aggressive towards his food but not his tank buddies they know to steer clear of it.
