cockatiels are friendly, social birds and lovebirds love company so you should hear lots of twittering and singing back and forth between the two. If you want to encourage this behavior put them where they can see each other, but not peck at each others cage. Also skip putting a mirror in their cage if you want to encourage them to socialize with each other and you. Also for what it's worth male cockatiels are much more vocal than female.

If you mean talking, like humans talk, probably not. Lovebirds and cockatiels, although they have been known to talk, are two of the more difficult species to teach. If you mean, will they chatter away in bird talk, then yes, they probably will. Most bird species like to have a lot of ambient noise and will contribute to it with their own songs and noises. Leaving a radio on in the room is usually enough to keep them going for a while. My two budgies never stop when the radio is on. My brother also has several species of birds and they chatter away incessantly.

we have three quakers and a sunday. When one talks alot of times the others will repeat. If one is out of the room- they call back and forth to each other. If one starts laughing, usually the other three join in too! (this makes me laugh, and makes them laugh harder!!) Birds can be noisy, my group can drive you nuts sometimes, but they won't be noisy all the time. And your going to get a lovebird, so he won't be near as noisy as alot of birds can be!! Good luck!!

yes. when one makes a noise the other will too. our birds are constantly doing it and it does sometimes get noisy. the plus in that though is that our older grey is teaching our younger one words

They'll talk to each other. My grey and eclectus are in their own "bird room" and talk to each other all day. they won't be too noisy, just normal talking.
