He'll probably be a medium-sized dog, but you won't know for sure. When you meet him, look at the size of his paws, head, ect., and it may give you a hint. Big paws? Big dog. Also, ask his current weight. Sixty pounds at six months means a BIG dog, but six at six months means a small one...do some research on dog breed weights and sizes for more information.

Also, maybe a sheltie/shiba inu mix, like you thought? And maybe some Pomeranian, to.

Cute puppy, by the way! My family have our eyes on a little pointer/spanial mix by the name of Isaac at petfinder.

Shetland Sheepdog Sheltie Mix

Sheltie's and Shetland Sheepdogs are the same breed. They are small to medium sized dogs only getting to about 30 lbs or so. They look like mini Lassie's.
If there is anything else mixed in with it, like Shiba Inu it shouldn't effect it's size any.

It does look like a Sheltie in the face but it is not ALL Sheltie. Shelties get to be about 30lbs (+or-) so this dog might be in that range. Thank you for rescuing a dog. I got my most recent dog from the same web site and she is wonderful - I just love her.

ya thats a Sheltie i have one they don't get real big maybe 30 lbs, judging from the paw he ain't gonna be huge, like i said maybe 30 lbs, If i had to guess at what he was mixed with i would say Chow from the fir, he is a lot more poofy than a normal Sheltie.

Very cute :) He looks like he might be sheltie/ lab or sheltie/ german shep mix from the pic, so he won't get too big, but he won't be a small dog either.

I see German shepherd,so if they are positive he's part sheltie,he'll probably be around 45 lbs. He's very cute,by the way,and how nice of you to rescue him!

Hmmmm....I went back and magnified the photo, and I wouldn't rule out a little Chow, but really,it's hard to tell.Does he have any littermates at the shelter,or is the mother there? Seeing them would give you a better idea.I don't see him getting huge, though.

Looks like probably a medium size dog, maybe on the large end of medium. Sheltie's are medium but I think the sheepdog part may influence the size to make it on the large end of the medium range.

Its hard to say what he is mixed with.. he's still a puppy, and its just hard to tell. Shelters are not always right, but their guess is as good as yours or mine. Honestly he looks more like a shepherd to me, but I could be wrong too.

If you want a small dog, look for an adult, that way you already know the size.

He will probably be medium size. Sheltie's aren't big dogs. I always use "look at the paws."
