I am looking for some entertainment for my gerbil he seems so bored and he does alot of digging and hiding in the top of his cage ..

the roll cant hurt them and they will just chew on it and go through it but even when they bite on it if the swallow it the will be fine because it is not toxic or anything and in stores they have lots of toys and online there is great ideas!!!

Personally I think it is quiet ok I have two gerbils which are both males and I give them paper towels, paper towel rolls ,toliet paper rolls and cardboard all they do is chew it up to shreds and sleep in it my gerbils are perfectly fine and when I had bought them the pet store even had cardboard pieces in their cage. one thing they shouldn't have to chew on is plastic containers to hold their food they chew up any plastic things they can get their teeth to .

Those have been the favorite of every gerbil I've ever had! My female fits in them fine, but my males were always a little bigger. If yours is big, cut the roll in the middle and they will be fine.

it won't harm him at all. small rodents like gerbils and hamsters need to chew and the roll is a good choice. they also love to hide in them.i wouldn't use it if the paper on the roll was scented though.

Hamsters love those! My hamster stores almost his whole bowl of food in there ( not the bowl haha ) And will make trips in there so he can store some in his house. He also made a tunnel system for himself so he can get to his food in private.
He will most likely chew on them and stuff, but hey, paper towel rolls are cheap!

I dont see how it could hurt him! It's perfect for him to chew and go through as a tunnel. My friend uses them for hers all the time and i used them for my hamster! Just make sure its not small enough for it to get stuck in it.

No actually they love them, its a good place to hide, they do chew on them but no harm comes from that.

nope not at all. my dad has at least 10 of them things....they just keep making more....but anyways we throw newspaper pieces of cardboard toilet paper rolls all that in there. they need to be constantly chewing to help their teeth grind down and to help their boredom
