I am thinking of getting a couple of Quaker Parakeets, and I was wondering how long do they live for and are they prone to any health problems?

both of them were fully house trained, couple of months ago they started to relieve themselves everywhere, especially against anything that is on the floor, I'm not sure which one is doing but I think both of them are, never catch either one in the act.

I am thinking about getting a pet bird and currently it will probably be a Quaker Parakeet. Are these very noisy? I'd quite like to teach it to talk but do not want it being too loud!

So I brought my dog with me to the pet store. I was standing in line behind a family purchasing a Rot puppy. The parents left their two children (neither child could have been more then 4 years old) in charge of this puppy while they worked out the paperwork. This family did not speak English very well and the whole process was taking an extremely long time. As my dog and I stood waiting this Rot puppy was running all over the place, and kept coming back to jump on my dog. Neither the store employee nor the family did anything to control this puppy and his newly found freedom he was enjoying so much (no leash or anything). After about 5 attacks on my dog's tail he turned around and snapped at the puppy. He didn't hurt it, but clearly let the youngster know that he had had enough. Well, that got the attention of the clerk who proceeded to kick me out because my dog was too aggressive to be in their store!

I don't think that was right...do you?

Recently my one year old budgie has started to hold his head on one side. This has impaired his flying a great deal, to the point of crashing. He has also just started to walk around in circles. What is wrong with him?

I want to get me a maltese puppy, maybe about 2 months old but ive never owned a dog before. the only pet ive ever owned was a fish and those dont really require anything besides remembering to feed them every so often. what do have to do wen i get the puppy? what do i feed it and how much do i feed it? do i feed it twice a day or only once? what about potty training? how do i do that? also how do i know if when the dog grows up if it will bite anyone in my family. or do i have to train it not to bite? if so how do i do that? please include as much detail as u can about taking cacre of a dog when you first get one and what to do for training such as potty trianing and barking and training not to bite as well as the other things like to sit and heal and everything like that. pleaseee as much detail as possible.

Once in a while, maybe once a month, my hermie, Crush rearranges his stuff in his cage. It's really hard to find his food dish, and water sponge. But it is so funny to get up and look at a rearranged cage. Now on to my queston; Do all hermit crabs do this?

My cat was sick on the carpet this morning I cant wipe it up because its stuck in the deep pile what are my options
a:take up the carpet and wipe everyones memory in the house and try to convince them there never was a carpet in the first place.
use the cat to wipe it up (he has quite long fur so the vomit may just stick to it)
or say it was me and let my mum wipe the floor with me(kick my head in)coz I cannot bring meself to clean it up

I am getting married next year, and my cat has my last name now(for visits to vet, etc.) ... I'm wondering if I should change his last name when I change mine too ... I hope it wouldn't upset him ... if only he could speak for himself. I just don't want to offend him.

I'm wondering now if I should have gone through with it in the first place. I meant well making my decision- everyone says it's best for the animal. But know I'm wondering if he'll be the same? I don't want him to just lay around & sleep or feel like less of a male. I miss him running around, biting my pants leg, & coming to investigate every time the door opens- & I hope he still continues all this. Is it possible that he's just still recovering from the surgery last week, & that he just needs time to come back to it? Does neutering calm down every cat & make them lazy/ fat? I don't want my buddy to resent me- I really did have the cat's best interest in mind!

I was thinking about starting using a daily dewormer because of the deworming sched. at my barn(I posted about that in an earlier question) I've seen the daily dewormers but never paid a whole lot of attention to them. I've started learning about them and think it would be a good idea but I've never used them before.

I'm assuming you still worm with the paste dewormers in addition?

I hold his head down when he's crying so he can understand that we are in charge. He continues to cry and try to get away. The crying is really loud. I don't want this action of mine to turn into a behavior problem for him in the future. I love him so much, but he's my first dog ever and I'm not sure if I'm doing this right. :(

Everytime we want to clean his face/eyes OR give him his medicine (with a dropper), he has a meltdown and yelps like there is no tomorrow. We haven't been able to clean his eyes or give him medicine properly because he just won't let us. Is there something we can do to make this better? Is he scared or is he in pain? I feel like everytime he yelps, our bonding goes down the drain. Please help.

My wife wants a puppy of a small breed for a inside dog but she alergic to dog fur. She has no ill effects from the dogs with continual growing hair. She just had to have her cocker put to sleep and I was wondering what other breeds were available.

She's tiny, looks like a Korat, (grey cat with silver tipped fur) and she/he is soooo lovable! Do you have any names?

P.S. I don't know if it's a girl or a boy yet!
