My Boston Terrier has dry spots in diffrent places on her, when it starts its about the size of a dime and keeps getting bigger, its just pealing dry skin, no sore. but looks bad, and people thinks she has the mange? is it?

My dog is a border collie cross, she is really friendly with people but she seems to chase most animals when she gets them in her sight.
By the way she is 5 years old.

I have 8 sweet little boxer pups that are 4 weeks old. i know here soon that im going to have to let them go . i plan on getting them dewormed before i sell them. should i also get them there first set of shots too. I have already had there declaws removed and there tails crop. this is going to be really hard on me.

I'm interested in adopting a rescued to dog but I have heard so many silly stories about how difficult it is to qualify for one. I'm 18 years old. I live with my parents and 2 brothers. We havn`t moved in over 10 years. What can I say to raise my chances of being qualified? What are some questions I should ask? What are some things I should look at on the dog? What are some things to consider?

My b/f is a truck driver OTR and I saw a truck filled with live chickens all caged up and no tarp over the top of them and for all the world I swear some of the chickens looked like they were "huddled" up together as if they were cold. So being curious I was just wondering if anyone out there knows if chickens do in fact get cold and do they sneeze? I am NOT refering to the "bird flu" that is going around killing the birds/people. Do they "huddle" for warmth or was that just my imagination at work? Just a quirky question I have been trying to fiqure out about them sneezing.

got him from a rescue shelter 3 months ago not sure of his history he's really placid and shy and shies away from strokes and cuddles but looks at me with really sad eyes..

I adopted this little guy (4 months old) from a rescue and I am trying to determine how much food he really needs a day. He weighs about 25 pounds and I have been giving him about two cups of hamburger/rice mixed with dry puppy food twice a day. He enhales every bit of it immediately. Should I be giving him more?

Over the years I have made use of various directories to list my dogs in. I raise a variety that is popular. Lately, when going to older directories, I find they are out of business. Is the internet dyeing or just the websites. Some new ones are popping up, but they have no power yet...........Could the costs be driving breeders away? Or are the breeders no longer breeding (en-mass)?

My partner works at an animal sanctuary and they have a recent arrival, a three-legged whippet. He is from a bedridden owner and is fine during the day but as night falls he starts howling ( even when it isn't full moon) once the carers have gone home at 9pm. The manager (who is on site) has tried putting him with plenty of other dogs, letting him in the house, but he is inconsolable. He craps everywhere during the night then when the carers turn up in the morning he cannons off the walls trying to get out. Once he has been out he wanders back and all stress appears to be gone and he is friendly and calm again. All the animals have armchairs and rugs and tvs, the carers are very kind and love their animals. It seems to me he is very insecure once the place is quiet and is terrified of punishment when he's made a mess but will he settle eventually or is there anything else that can be done to help him settle?

Is the smell of ferrets really as bad as I've been reading? I have been considering getting one, but we live in a small apartment in Japan. Will the smell overpower my entire apartment? What exactly do they smell like? It can 't be that bad since many people are ferret owners, Right?


Any advice or tips? Should I get a young one or one that's already 3 or 4 years old? Also I've been reading that many get cancer, is it very common? It makes me worried about getting attached to one and then it dying on me in just a few years. Please help! Arigatou!

He was moved outdoors in the summer and got stung by bees and now that it's winter his water bottle freezes solid all the time he was bought out of a warm pet store last year and spent all this time indoors until the summer of course. I think he should be indoors but they think its better for him to be out what do you think?
