You are asking for heavy horses bred Primarily for pulling. There are many different types of draft horses as well as cross-bred types (such as we used on our farm). There are also ponies which were bred for use in specialized draft work such as tram pulling in the mines. There are also horse which are bred as all a-rounder including plowing such as the Morgan. There are also mules which are bred for draft work (personally I prefer them).

I considered adding a description for each breed but that would have made a huge answer. However, by putting in Google (or some other search engine) the words “Draft Horse” followed by the breed name I believe you can obtain a lot of detail on each breed.

There are likely more draft breeds than can be counted but some types of draft horses are following herein:

Ardennes
Belgian (or Belgian Heavy Draft)
Boulonnais
Breton
Clydesdale
Comtois
Danubian
Dole
Dutch Draft
Finnish
Friberger
Friesian
Groningen
Irish Draught (or Irish Draft)
Italian Heavy Draft
Jutland
Lithuanian Heavy Draft
Murakoz
Noriker
North Swedish
Percheron
Russian Heavy Draft
Schleswig
Shire
Soviet Heavy Draft
Suffolk Punch
Swedish Ardennes
Vladimir Heavy Draft
