The first thing you do is get that baby to a vet ASAP.Chicken bones should NEVER, NEVER be given to a dog. Thet splinter and can cause perferation's any where along the digestive tract. Many years ago before I learned better I allowed my Olde English Sheep dog to have chicken bones and it almost killed him . The bones splintered and perferated his large intestine and caused him a lot of pain and me a lot of money to have him in the hospital for a week. If you don't get him to a vet, you won't have him with you anymore. Please go TODAY!!!! Good luck to the both of you.

Did you feed these bones without meat on them? Did you supervise to be sure your dog actually chewed the bones?
Raw MEATY bones are the basis of a healthy raw diet. And dogs sometimes need to be taught to chew if they've been kibble fed for a long time.
For the time being your dog needs a vet to help with the blockage. Get him there first thing this morning and no later.
In the future make sure you supervise him to be sure he chews his food, and make sure to offer the whole thing, not just the bone.
What do you people think dogs are made to eat? Look at their teeth, they are meant to rip flesh and crush bone. Hundreds of people myself included feed RAW CHICKEN bones and all to their pets everyday. Its a biologically appropriate diet.
My animals have never looked better.
Do your research before you go on old wives tales, and bash something you know nothing about.
COOKED bones=VERY BAD, RAW MEATY BONES=VERY HEALTHY

OH MY GOD!!! Why are you even letting your dog eat chicken bones?!?! Have you NO common sense?! You NEVER let dogs eat chicken bones or other similar types of bones because they can splinter causing major problems!!!!! Take him to a vet immediately and quit feeding him these. If you want to let him chew on a bone, buy big soup bones to gnaw on. And DON'T feed them raw chicken. With all the problems from Salminella and EColi, I would never feed my pets raw food.

My dogs get RAW chicken every now and then, they are way bigger than your dachshund though. His body obviously doesn't agree with the raw chicken. why did you continue to feed it to him if you noticed that he gets constipated and and bleeds while having a bowel movement? Take him to a vet! Something is OBVIOUSLY wrong.

Raw chicken NECKS are perfect for dogs and cats, but not legs or wings cos they 'splinter'.Poor ole thing, give him mushy stuff for a couple of days to get his digestive system back to normal. , then truly, chicken necks are fine (raw of course)and provided they are part of a normal balanced diet for doggies.

stop feeding him table scraps and letting him eat from the garbage. dogs should not be fed bones as they break up and could puncture his windpipe from the fragments buy some chiken dog food if he likes chicken so much pedigree is good

why did you give him chicken bones? take him to the vet so they can remove them. i have a dach, and they have small throats. you should never let them eat bones, and they need to be taken care of properly. be a good owner, and take care of the dog! or else give it to someone who cares!
