Here's a trick that may work (works for me!).
Put about half a cup of baking soda over it or more depending on how large the spot it. Then pour some vinegar on top; it's going to fizz.
Rub it with a towel and everything should come right up.

Hairball?? Than pick it up with an inside out bag and throw it in the garbage...than do the steps below! It also will help if you let the hairball dry...helps with the cleaning process.
Ohh.. LOL. You should get boiling hot water and soak the spot and an inch around the whole mess. Then take a cleaning bristle brush and rub in circles. This is so easy to clean that you can use kids shampoo or your shampoo. The rub in circles. Rinse with boiling water. Rub in ccircles. Shampoo. Rub in circles. Rinse....etc. Until you get it all out. Then to dry it...take a towel (that you wont use anymore :P ). Rub in circles until it is damp. Than take a hairdryer and heat the spot until it drys. Make sure you: dry. rub in circles with towel. dry. rub in circles with towel....etc.
Oh and make sure you do this before your mum sees or finds out.
LOL.
God Bless you.
P.S: You should sacrifice anything for your cat if your truly love it.

If you are in the UK use something like Vanish carpet cleaner. If you are anywhere else, including the UK just use carpet shampoo/cleaner. You need to pick up the majority of the sick first so be prepared!

Resolve works well for us. You need to keep it on the carpet for about ten minutes before you wipe it clean.

Newsflash: YOU have to clean it up.
Use paper towels to get the worst of the mess up. Then if there's a smell, you could try putting Lysol and water on what's left, let it sit for a while, then scrub it a bit and use rags to blot it up.

get a bunch of paper towels to get the chunks up, then blot the area with ammonia(?) and more paper towels. put a glove or a plastic bag over your hand if you're afraid the moisture will seep through the towel.

my cat does that too from time to time being half persian. i find it's easier to let it dry out (sorry, know it sounds minging, but i live alone - i can go to the pub and ignore it!) then use the dyson to sook it all up. it's like it was never there.
