You can see how close everything is in the pictures.... the colors on the walls is the way we bought the house, we were going to work with the shower curtain we bought, but now we are going to sell the house and painting it to SELL.. Ideas are appreciated! (oh, and those horrible shelves are coming out..) So color, storage ideas, etc., would be great!!!

We are wanting to finish our basement. Nothing is done to it. Its all cement other than a couple 2 x 4's in a little area. It about 900 sq. ft. My question is how much do you think it would cost to finish. walls, paint, carpet, the whole deal??

We are building a new house and I need to go buy a new Fridge, Oven and Dishwasher. I want to get all stainless steel appliances (preferably a matte finish). I'd like a glass top oven. What are some features I should make sure these items have?

I just moved into a house with barely any closet space for my clothes. Just one tiny tiny closet that's about 3 feet wide w/two rods... i thought i could come up with something, but now i'm panicking! I have an armoir, but that is full. Does anyone have any ideas for a makeshift closet with rods/shelving?

We're remodeling our house and the project is half way done. We're very happy with our contractor but we have a tight budget.

i'm looking for any pictures or websites w/ pictures of real custom shutters. Not the same old typical louvered, panel, board & batten, or bermuda... But something like this:

http://www.coppermoonwoodworks.com/designs.html
This is the only site I could find with what I am looking for. And I'm looking for lots of examples.
thanks.

My boyfriend and I are moving into our first apartment soon and I need some good decorating ideas (since im gonna be doing most of the decorating). We're both young, I'm 20 & he's 21, so we dont want anything that looks to old fashion. I have some ideas, but its always good to hear more. (we have a 1 bedroom, not a studio)

Does it take any special plumber tools? I am very mechanically inclined but I know that in some plumbing jobs it takes special tools. I want to changing a basic 4" bathroom vanity faucet. Anyone have some pointers out there? Or should I call a plumber?

For 900 sq feet what's the cost to have the floor's finished.
Also, how can we get rid the smell from the cats of the previous owners, they had eight. Is it possible?

I just moved into my place & haven't quite picked out the "feel" of how I want the space to look. I have our (mine & husbands) bed & the kids beds, a kitchen table & nothing else. We moved over 600 miles & sold or gave away all of our funiture (very old). Anyway, with the holidays coming & friends & family guaranteed to stop by I need furniture quick! I don't have alot to drop on a complete makeover & I refuse to use the plastic so close to Christmas. How about those rental furniture places? They seem like such traps. You end up paying double the price of the furniture. Should I just get a livingroom set for the holidays & send it back?

I am hiring a contractor to build a home addition for me it will have a bathroom and a kitchen bedroom and a living and dining combo.
The addition will be about 600 square feet. I am enclosing a existing carport. I have told the contractor my hubby can do the heating and air I can paint it on the inside and my brother in law can do the plumbing. Any other cost cutting tips you guys can think of I sure would appreciate it!!

I am redecorating my bedroom right now ... my new bed is a gold frost color, and my comforter is a chocolate brown with gold accents, a little shimmery. I have no clue what color/type of wood furniture (dresser, nightstands) to get to match the brown bedding and gold bed. Should I go light, like maple, or dark? I am stumped! Thanks for helping =)
