You can see how close everything is in the pictures.... the colors on the walls is the way we bought the house, we were going to work with the shower curtain we bought, but now we are going to sell the house and painting it to SELL.. Ideas are appreciated! (oh, and those horrible shelves are coming out..) So color, storage ideas, etc., would be great!!!

oof. that is tiny.

the color is already neutral enough; if only it weren't for that horrible border! Paint it something light & refreshing, like "sunbeam yellow" by sherwin williams.

after taking out those shelves, maybe put in a slim linen cabinet, like this:

or if there's room, you could go with something slighty wider:

or a corner model:

The bathroom is way too busy. First I'd look for a nice shower curtain and then I'd pick the wall color. I like stripes for the shower curtain because they make the room look taller/bigger. Remove the border and the shelves. You were given some suggestions for a cabinet or a corner unit. They were great ideas. You could also put up a molding/chair rail and paint the room in monochromatic colors coordinating with the shower curtain. A simple shower curtain and monochromatic will make the room look clean, calm and put together.

Get rid of the wall border that is visually cutting the room in half. Paint the bathroom walls white and if you want to put in a pop of color then paint the wall behind the toilet a pretty color (like a soft caramel color). Replace the shower curtain with one that is a solid color. Tan or the caramel color would look nice. When getting ready to show the place get rid of all of the clutter. Nothing on the sink, get rid of the small garbage can to clear the floor space. Good luck with the sale!

Here's what might work...

1) A celery or sage green for the walls.
2)The lining on those shelves could be removed.
3)Take out the shelves all together and replace with anti-rust metal or plastic shelving. I'm guessing that the shelves in the bathroom are wooden, and moisture could cause rot within the wood.
4) Use dove gray vinyl tiles on the floor. I have gray tiles in my bathroom, and any dirt is invisible!
5) A fun, lively shower curtain could brighten up the room. I suggest either the Woodsy Woods Shower Curtain or the Love Me Shower Curtain from urbanoutfitters.com
Good luck!!

WHEN SELLING YOUR PROPERTY USE A NEUTRAL COLOR THAT WILL APPEAL TO ALL. YOU DON'T WANT TO MAKE IT SO IT SUITS YOUR TASTE. YOU CAN ALWAYS USE NEW TOWELS TO GIVE SOME COLOR. DON'T GO IN THE FLORAL DIRECTION AS THIS DOESN'T SELL. KEEP IT AS MINIMAL AS POSSIBLE. MAYBE A CANDLE THAT WILL PULL TOGETHER THE COLORS NICELY.

GOOD LUCK..
