We are wanting to finish our basement. Nothing is done to it. Its all cement other than a couple 2 x 4's in a little area. It about 900 sq. ft. My question is how much do you think it would cost to finish. walls, paint, carpet, the whole deal??

How long is a piece of string?
the ceiling may need plasterboard and skimming along with the walls say £600-£800
the carpet would probably be the easiest to price up at a carpet shop say from £1 per sq ft upwards
paint is cheap for lots of thin rubbish or expensive for the good stuff.

if you are going to do it properly ..then the answer is a lot of money ..900 sq feet is the average size of a semi detached house in the uk .. so you must have walls intersecting to support the floors above ..pity you never said what country you live in ..but if you had it done in the uk to a standard to suit building control ..then you will spend £50000 plus ..the most expensive item will be the floor and tanking of walls

For my parents in their house, it cost about $28,000. But it depends on what you plan on doing. Your best bet would be to buy some software to draw up some rough plans of what you want to do, and then take the plans to a contractor. Having your plans before you start the work can save you up to 30% on the final cost.
Good luck!!!
