soundproofing a bedroom does not mean we are swinging off the ceiling and walls during "intimate moments"....its for sleeping reasons.....lol

If this is your house and you are willing to do the work yourself you might consider installing Z channel and Sheetrock. The Z channel allows the wall to "Float" so it absorbs sound. This method is used around high noise areas such as freeways. If you choose to do this it will also entail adding jam extensions to windows and doors and reinstalling the trim in the room.

Wow, what's going on in your bedroom that you need to block sound from getting out?
To answer your question, though, there are plenty of sound-proofing products available that look better than that "foam" you mentioned- here's an example-

Add an extra layer of Dry-wall to same area! wals and cieling! 3/4 inch at least deaden about all sound on door aplly a moving blanket to it. you do same wals remove when not in use? using screw eyes and loop method... ask at hardware store ?

White sound machines are very inexpensive, and come with different background sounds that will cancel other sounds in the room. Google white sound fans.

depends on how far your willing to go. tear the sheet rock down insulate the inside wall well. put up plywood then over that sheet rock and paint...

Have you ever tried ear plugs? My husband snores, and if I didn´t have ear plugs I wouldn´t be able to sleep.

Try them before going to all this trouble.
