I have been trying to come up a good gym routine. Most of the stuff online is geared more towards men.

I'm 20, 5'7 and 150 pounds. As for a weight goal, I would put it at about 130 but it's really up to where my clothes fit nicely and I feel I look better.

I have access to a gym, I'm just not sure how I should be going about it, how long I should spend on what, or what kind of sets and reps to do.

Links and/or suggestions would be much appreciated!

Allen Cosgrove in Men's Fitness about a year ago gave a formula to determine this. I wonder what other's thought of this formula.

Currently, I am looking to gain muscle and to be very healthy. I am currently 5'9" and about 130 lbs. I'm skinny, and have a very high metabolism (no matter how much I eat, I don't budge in weight). I'm looking to gain weight via muscle and to keep myself in shape.

I have a normal diet at the moment and take One-A-Day vitamins and fiber supplements.

Currently, I work out about 3-4 times a week for between 1 hour - 1 and a half hours by running and using weights. Here are my questions:

What should my focus be for my diet?
Do vitamins help much?
How long should it be before I see/feel results?

Note: This is the first time I've decided to work out and diet, so I truly am not sure. Thanks in advance for all the help!

You always see the "Percent Daily Values" on food packaging (fat, fiber, cholesterol) - but it never mentions sugar. Is there even a determined amount ?

I wouldn't be so fat if they didn't inject all those growth hormones and preservatives into their food.

Advice if starving to lose weight works?

Well I've never been happy with my size - ever...
i've reached the point in my life where i'm not liking 'me"!
i'm 21 yrs old, 5'5, and 180 lbs. i eat out a lot, and don't excersize- i lack motivation- i even have a gym membership but don't use it. i want an easy way out-= but i know the best thing is calorie control- and wrking out- ! was wondering if i could loose weight (about 20 lbs) by starving myself, and then once im back to 160 - then start wrking out and doing the healthy stuff..- idk- someone help !

I know, I know, a healthy diet and yadda yadda. I got all that. But what I was wanting to know, What is your opinion on the best exercise? What do you think works best? Whether it targets a certain body part or if it's for an all over burn or tone, what is it? Please let me know, Thx!!

I am going on a diet I'm 5'4 and 110llb I was thinking about eating only apples and yogart. I like to put yogart on my apples :). You cant count calories in apples becauseyou burn more than you eat. I usually use 3/4 of the box of yogart. Originally its 140 callories but i dont usr it all so i count 100. Ill eat this 3 or 4 times as it is filling and i dont know for how long it depeends on results. I take a vitamine everymorning, drink lots, and exersize. What do you think?? Can you give me more tips too??

So my BMI tells me I'm overweight. And obviously I'd prefer to lose weight sooner rather than later because, well, who wouldn't? About a month ago I started dieting (WeightWatchers) and exercising more. I've lost about 10 pounds in that time, which is healthy but is a slower process than I would like.

Currently, I eat between 10 and 16 WeightWatchers points a day. For exercise, I have been using my treadmill (between 3 and 5 miles daily, usually on speed 3-5 mph) and doing a 30-minute beginner's pilates DVD twice daily. I've been doing this pretty consistently.

It seems like all I'm doing is exercising, drinking water, working, attending college, or sleeping. I think I should be losing weight faster given my current weight (I still have to drop another 50 pounds). However it's very discouraging that I seem to be plateauing and I've barely started.

Any suggestions on how I can lose weight faster? I would modify my diet or exercise routine to lose the weight quicker.

I am a guy , 39 yo & my weight is OK for my height. All through my life , I was never in love with meat . However , lately , I've noticed that I hardly touch it. I eat a small portion of meat or chicken once every week or 10 days. I don't call myself vegetarian but I'm acting like one.

Is this healthy ?

I joined WW two months ago, and i have had great success on it. But lately i'm at a standstill, so i decided to join my local gym! I am eating very healthy, drinking more than a daily required amount of water. I plan on using the elliptical machine for 60 minutes, 5 days a week. The other 2 days, i bowl on a bowling league. Do you think this will help me on my weight loss journey??
