I go to the gym Mon-Fri and run sometimes as much as 4.5 miles on the treadmill..Either way I do about 45 minutes of cardio. I try to not go past 1200-1800 calories a day, but when the weekend comes and I do not exercise I gain back 4 pounds or so. Do I have to starve for the rest of my life or what?

I want to lose at least 10-15 pounds by August 28th. So everyday I walk 8 miles and sometimes more. I've been doing this for almost 3 weeks now and I can't seem to lose any weight. I'm 16, 5'6", and I weigh 150 pounds. I haven't been eating fattening foods and I quite drinking soda and have just been drinking water. Is there anything I'm doing wrong or is there anything I should start doing. I walk briskly because when I run my side starts to hurt and I have to stop running. And since it has been almost 3 weeks I was hoping I would have lost at least 5 pounds by now. I don't know what to do.

I want to lose weight and have been told to cut out carbs by my persoanl trainer. I go to the gym twice a week, and walk on average half an hour to work and back 4 days a week. Although I also try to eat very healthy, I have put on weight and body fat, which is why my personal trainer advised to cut out on carbohydrates. In order not to be hungry I will have to eat loads of fruit and veg, and I mean loads, i.e. massive plates of vegetable stir fries etc. Will this help me lose weight or will this still result in weight gain, if I just eat too many?

After running a 40 mile week on concrete, i have recieved my first case of shin splints...im taking it easy and resting this week, but i am leaving for bootcamp in 12 days...my question is, can shin splints, if i run on them continuously, cause permantent damage to the bone, or tissue? Pain is no object, i just want to know if it will cause unrecoverable injury?

Yahoo posted an informative video clip on the drug Hoodia and I was wondering if anyone out there has tried it. Its so hard to believe any weightloss hype these days. The drug is supposed to curb appetite but green tea and some other diet pills claim the same thing.

I can't seem to stay focused long enough to begin a healthy life style. I have no energy and exercising is null and void in my life. I am 5'2" and weigh 185lbs, I can barely stay awake because of my fatique. I'm scared I may be at risk of a heart attack.
