I'm getting my four wisdoms pulled, and I have three options for the operation:
anesthesia
laughing gas
novacaine

Which drug has the smallest chance of harming me?

and I'm 15, if that is in any way relevant.

When they took them off did you have a lot of cavities? I am 13 (was 12 when they took them off) and I brushed my teeth every night but I had 10 cavities! So now I have to go to the dentist every month and get 2 at a time filled. (so far I have gotten 6 filled) Did anyone else have this problem when they got their braces tooken off?

One day, I was brushing verrrrrrry hard because I haven't brushed in a while. Then the next day, I wake up and the top part of my gums are swollen. At first I thought it'd just cool down in a couple hours or so, but its been a couple days after that incident and there still swollen. I know my hard brushing was the cause of it. Do you guys what I can do to get it back to normal?

I've never even had a cavity before but my tooth hurts when i bite down and I'm pretty sure it's a cavity. I have a great new dental plan but it doesn't go into affect for another whole month. What should I do? Should I pay the whole amount for the cavity filling or whatever...or should I tough it out? I'm pretty sure you're supposed to get them taken care of or they get a lot worse, right?

I have an embarrasing question. I brush my teeth regularly, use mouthwash (listerine) and for the past few days, I've had a horrible taste in my mouth. I know my breath has to stink right along with it. What would cause this? Is there any way to fix it? It's not that my mouth is dry, because I've actually had a lot of moisture lately. UGH!

Two days ago I was eating chicken strips and one of them was a little extra crispy and when i bit down on it I hurt my gums in the back of my mouth (left side were wisdom tooth would be). Now when I say I hurt my gums, when I feel in side my mouth along the side of my gums they're smooth until I reach the spot it hurt there are what feels like tears or tiny little cuts. So than the gum surrounding my wisdom tooth began to get sore and slightly swell. Well now that same area (the gum over the wisdom tooth) is completely swollen and very uncomfortable and a flap has begun to form. Can anyone help me and tell me why this may be happening?

and it is hurting and feeling odd. The filling material she uses just wears down in 3 or 4 months as she can't use the harder stuff on the front teeth and I can't afford a cap on it.

Can the gum between the two teeth be cut off so it is lower than the teeth. Would this be harmful or excessively painful after a few days?

I hate to tell her to pull it as it is a bottom tooth that will show but it feels real awful. It was painful but now feels more like a big something it stuck in my teeth or gums and it is very annoying whenever I close my mouth.

Any advice. I guess bruxism is associated with sleep apnea which I have or so I read. I use a mouth guard to sleep.

My daughter is 15 months and we have been struggling to peacefully brush her teeth! We have tried all kinds of toothbrushes and wipes and washcloths... but she has a fit! She is a very even tempered and calm baby who is easy going to WONDERFUL... except when we need to clean her teeth!

I've been using the whitening pre-brush rinse that listerene makes, as I was concerned about the dye in others staining my teeth. Does Listerene, or other mouthwash, run a risk of damaging your enamel when used prolonged periods of time at the recommended twice a day?

Do you know any other useful facts regarding mouthwash that others may not be aware of?

Hello! I just got my spacers on today for braces. I was just wondering, do they usually put the bands on teeth that have crowns on them, I would think this would damage the crown, but they put the spacers on either side of a tooth I have a crown on, will it be ok?
