My dentist had told me I should get a root canal done for one of my teeth. I don't know if I should do the procedure, b/c it is very expensive, and I have no insurance to help me pay for it. Should I do it anyways? What will happen if I don't?

I went to the dentists last week and he told me that my gums were recovering nicely from the gingivitis he had diagnosed a few weeks earlier. However, I've noticed some bleeding today and yesterday when I brushed my teeth. I did have quite a lot of sugar today, which can't have helped. I looked at my gums but I can't tell where the blood is coming from.

The inflammation is going down, but is still present. I'm brushing/ flossing etc, so is this normal?

I have an appointment tomorrow to remove my two wisdom teeth on my right side of my mouth. I had the two on my left side removed last month and everything went fine.

I am nervouse about this time because my bottom right wisdom tooth is crooked, and it is close to a vain. My top right wisdom tooth grew in straight, so I am not worried about that one.

Can anyone tell me how painful the procedure is to take out a crooked bottom wisdom tooth? what is the procedure like? how am I going to feel afterwards?

It's hanging down a little too far and my dentist won't see me for another week. I just want to reduce it by a tiny bit so it feels like it used to. Will this cause it to fall out? It seems like all the dentist will do is grind it down with sandpaper anyway. Thanks.

Can the mercury leach out of it and harm my vegetables...? Things like tomatoes, cukes, etc. Will I get sick by eating them if they absorb the mercury...?

I realize this must sound a litle silly, but I'm serious, so serious answers only, please! Thanks!

Last time I went to the dentist, I didnt have any cavities...but the time before I had like 8. I was mortified. Its been 8 months since my last cleaning and im so scared that i have cavities or gingivitis (i have had slighty bleeding when i brush too hard)...is there a way to assess myself before going to the dentist so i'm not shocked?

Okay, so I'm thirteen years old and I know that invisalign is supposed to be for adult teeth but some of my friends have them so I was just wondering if I would be able to get invisalign becuse I'm not an adult. I've already lost all of my baby teeth but they're not fully done growing in, although they're close. My twelve year molars are coming in if that makes a difference. Also, do braces work better than invisalign? I really want invisaline but does it not work as well as regular braces?

(please focus on answering the first question and not the one about invisalign vs. braces)

Thank You!

I have just had my braces taken off and I noticed that my 2 front teeth do not make any contact with the lower teeth when I bite together. I can clearly put a finger in the gap under the tip of my 2 front teeth.

Does this mean I have a open bite? My dentist has not even mentioned anything about this...but I do know (my own opinion) that the 2 front teeth seem to protrude abit. However, people I have talked to about this have said its in my mind and they do not protrude.

He's living with me right now, and he's my best friend in the world. He can't afford the insurance at this moment, but I don't want him to suffer. He won't quite admit to it, but I know he doesn't have the best self esteem. I've already helped him out with style tips, but I know that having a good smile would do wonders for him.

I had braces put in last week and there's this one spot between my front teeth that has cement on it. The pain is gone but I feel pressure from the spot where there's cement between my teeth. The cement is pretty hard and I can't floss this spot. Is this normal? I figured it would break off in a week or so but it hasn't. I don't know if it's going to slow the process.

My tooth does not hurt and is not discolored. There is no sensitivity to pressure. I did see the shadow area - cavity - on the x-ray, but how is my dentist so sure I need a root canal?
