The only thing to really expect is that you will probably have a few spots from where the brackets were from the braces. I suggest whitening strips or other treatment. Bleaching is another alternative but it's very expensive. Retainers you normally do not have to wear them to school. Depends on what your situation is. Average, you only wear them at night time and when you sleep. But you HAVE to wear them whenever your orthodontist tells you too, because believe me, if you don't.. your teeth will go right back to how they were before you got your braces on. Retainers keep your teeth straight.

It's been a while (I won't say how long) since I had braces but the retainer is the final step. Yes, you'll wear the retainer to school unless your orthodontist tells you to do otherwise. It's no big deal. You won't be the only kid with a retainer. If it's an upper retainer it might make you say some things funny for a while but that will soon end and you'll talk normally again. Just keep your sense of humor and you'll be fine.
The purpose of the retainer is to do the fine tuning so to speak on straightening your teeth and to help make sure they don't move back. Just do as your orthodontist says and when you're finished you'll have straight teeth and a nice smile.

Well they're gonna take a impression of your teeth the day you get your braces off and then in like a week you go back to get your retainer. You have to wear it 24/7 for 6 months and then at night for at least another 6 months. If you talk out loud a lot right after you get it even if it's like to yourself the slur goes away pretty quick.

your retainer will mess with your speech a little, and your asked to wear it for 24 hours for a while, then 12 then 5 and so on, if you dont wear it at all, you will end up needing braces again because your teeth will slip back to the way they were, before you got braces. your retainer will be noticable, but not nearly as much as your braces. GOOD LUCK! and dont ever forget to wear your retainer!

PLEASE wear your retainer unless you want to wear the braces again !
Your teeth will move back very quickly to where they were if you don't wear the retainer ! !
You Orthodontist will tell you how long to keep the retainer,it might be all day and night or 12 hours a day.
The retainer will have a funk smell because it's in your mouth all day so be sure to soak very good at night !
You might slur a bit when you wear the retainer but it gets better.
Be sure you don't lose it,they are VERY expensive to replace

Your teeth are going to feel really slick to you. The retainer is needed to help hold the teeth in place while they adjust to the lack of braces. It depends on what your orthodontist says about when and how long you have to wear it. Some people only need to wear it at night. You'll get used to talking with it, but yeah, at first it's going to make you slur a little.

it depends what your dentist says. most likely, you will have to wear the retainers during school. im not sure if it will be noticable. but your retainers probably won't sure unless u take it off. after a while, u get used to speaking retainers. although, i personally do not enjoy speaking with my retainers because i think my voice sounds awful with my retainers on, it probably wont affect ur speech that much or maybe at all

It depends on if you orthodontist wants you to wear your retainers during the day or night.
Yes, retainers are noticeable but its not really a big deal.
No, retainers don't mess with your speech but they do dry your lips out, so invest in chapstick. :)

You will notice yourself smiling alot. Retainer are recc. for keeping your teeth align or in place after braces are removed. So make sure you wear it. Depending on your orthodontist most retainer can be worn at home and through the night unless your orthodontist recc. otherwise. Initially, you will find yourself having difficulty pronoucing certain words but you will adjust to them quickly.

make sure you use your retainer every night.. it helps the teeth that have moved into place, stay into place.. your gums are soft and the braces have moved your teeth into place.. and you need to keep the retainer on so that the teeth dont move out of place.. trust me i know.. i had overlapped front teeth, and when i had my braces out, they were straight.. i stopped using the retainer.. and they moved out of place ..so the whole 2years of braces was a waste of time..
