Yes, you're doing it wrong. You're supposed to apply it with a metal file.
(I wonder how many morons will take his question seriously.)

I will second the motion to all other answers on this question, sugar makes your teeth WORSE, not better. It feeds the bacteria on your mouth. I don't know if you were being serious when you answered this question. Hopefully not.
What I recommend for teeth whitening is a product called Therabrite from Dr. Harold Katz. It's a great whitening product you can use at home. It also oxidizes the mouth and helps prevent bad breath. Get more info at http://www.therabreath.com.

Why sugar?
Sugar gives you cavities and definitely not whiter teeth.
A better way to make your teeth whiter is to brush your teeth after meals and if you can't do that, at least twice a day. Use floss and mouthwash to help with bad breath and cavities.
And please stop rubbing sugar on your teeth. It will only make it worse.

Where in the world did you get the idea to do this? I've never heard of sugar making your teeth white but probably a good way to loose them! Baking soda and salt I've heard of.I'm sure it doesn't taste as good but it is an old remedy to whiten teeth and helps your gums.

Sugar???!!!! Sugar eats the enamel it sue doesn't make them white. I would do teeth bleaching or try one of the over the counter remedies. Sugar?! No dentist is going to tell you to rub sugar on your teeth to whiten them. They tell you to stay away from sugar. Talk with your dental technician for the best advice. Stop with the sugar.

I have not heard that sugar whitens the teeth. To my knowledge, all sugar will do is give you some nice brown cavities. There are over-the-counter whitening strips available. There are also toothpastes with whiteners. I suggest you check them out and lose the sugar.

What douche bag told you to rub sugar on your teeth? lol Didn't they tell you how bad sugar was for your teeth in elementary school? lol
Brush with tooth paste genius and use baking soda if you want.

Sugar wont help whiten your teeth, just aid in their decay. Get yourself some whitening strips from any supermarket, a battery toothbrush, and some decent toothpaste/mouthwash. Brush, flush, and whiten twice a day. Give it 3 months and your teeth will be gleaming.

You're joking, right? Sugar is acidic and wears down enamel on teeth and makes it easier for cavities on teeth to form and also makes it easier for you to get gum disease if your teeth are prolonged to decay caused by said sugar as well as a general lack of brushing and flossing.
