Can the mercury leach out of it and harm my vegetables...? Things like tomatoes, cukes, etc. Will I get sick by eating them if they absorb the mercury...?

I realize this must sound a litle silly, but I'm serious, so serious answers only, please! Thanks!

Just think that this filling was once in your mouth so I would not worry about the filling contaminating your vegetable garden. From what I understand, amalgam filling contain mercury and other metals. When the mercury is mixed w/ other material to form an amalgam filling it makes the mercury inert.
Mercury in it's free form is poisonous.
