No, not at all. And they don't taste bad, either - when I got mine done, they had different flavors to choose from. Don't sweat it!

Getting the impressions for your braces is absolutely painless. It might just feel a bit wierd, but that is about it. Also, some of the stuff might get stuck in between your teeth after they take the impressions. Hope this helps.

I have braces, and all I can say is that it doesn't "hurt" per say. It's more of a gagging feeling, and a weird sensation of like... well, like playdough oozing out around your teeth, lol. Braces aren't painful for long, use Tylenol or asprin and you'll be ok. :) It's well worth any discomfort!

No, the impressions do not hurt at all... and if the impression material is oozing down your throat, they put too much in the tray.

If it's uncomfortable for you, and you feel like you're going to gag, lower your chin as far down to your chest as you can. This will help minimize the gag reflex.

Best of Luck!

Not at all. Braces only hurt the day after, too.

No, but braces hurt the 1st day or 2nd.

when the orthodontist put the tray of "goo" in my mouth,
i felt like i was choking and panicked. I grabbed his wrist that was holding the tray in my mouth and start pulling.
"I'm CHOKING you FOOL....CHOKING !!"... i scrambled and kicked...

he became FURIOUS and told me NEVER to GRAB him when he had a sharp instrument in his hands !!

advice: just relax - you will NOT choke

it doesn't hurt it just feels really gross
like the orthodontist has to leave it in there to set, and you can feel it sliding down your throat...ugh
