I have fairly sensitive teeth, and they often mildly ache after eating crunchy foods or snacks (like sunflower seeds), so I use a whitening toothpaste made for sensitive teeth. I brush 3 or 4 times every day. I avoid most snack foods that could do damage, like chips, cookies, pretzels, etc... but I do eat sunflower seeds a lot.

I also like to eat lemons... like, sucking the juice out of lemon wedges. After eating lemons, my teeth feel especially sensitive, and sometimes even *hurt*. I brush my teeth immediately after eating lemons, but they don't feel near as smooth and clean as they do when I brush after having no lemons. The enamel feels strange, and take a few hours to go back to normal.

Do lemons or citrus fruits in general cause harm to your tooth enamel? What can I do or what products can I use to protect my teeth and still enjoy lemons? Drinking lemon juice on it's own is kind of gross, so I don't think that's an option...

I got a root canal and a crown put on a molar in march of 2007. It is now only Sept. and I suddenly feel a very sharp pain that goes away pretty quickly when i bite on something hot or cold. I looked at the tooth and the back of it appears to have a dark metallic line and the gumline. The front of the tooth looks perfect though and it doesnt feel loose. I called the dentist and they think it may need to be recemented. Isn't that going to hurt if it is already on pretty well? Could it be anything else? I have an appointment scheduled, I was just wondering if anyone experienced this before. Thank you.

im not sure if i have tmj or not but i have the symptoms like headaches and earaches- which dont happen often but like once or twice a day and may last for 20-30 minutes. about the grinding part, i notice that sometimes at night my teeth would click- like it would do this thing real quick where you would bite something but nothing is in your mouth- or like hitting your bottom teeth and upper teeth together for a split second. something like that. now, would this be grinding your teeth? or would grinding your teeth mean having all your teeth together and moving them side to side? btw, how did your tmj start? thanks in advance...

Okay....I lost my front tooth which is not very astetically pleasing. It is a sunday and a long weekend so I wont be able to get into the dentists office until tuesday. Is there a way I can temporarily put my tooth back in safely until tuesday? Also, there is a small part of the tooth still in my gums.

Its very little, but i'm concerned it will cause my teeth to shift.
Any opinions on what I should do? I can't afford another.

I had a broken tooth tempory repaired on thursday and now the surrounding area is swollen and my glands are up. I went to A+E this morning as I'm going on holiday tomorrow and didn't want to have trouble while I was away. The question is can I just take them for two or three days or until the swelling subsides, as you can't have a single drink with them, why is that? could you please tell me of the consequences of stopping before I take the full course. ps I've been given 21 to be taken three times a day

I have these large lumps at the back of my tongue and I know most people usually have lumps at the back called circumvallet papillae (and these lumps are about where the papillae should be, but these definately have only appeared in the last few days are kind of whitish - i have also started feeling sick (sore throat, runny nose, tired etc) are these just circumvallet papillae or could they be something to worry about?

I am only 16, but i've had alot of teeth problems, from being hit in the mouth/bad care etc. and just recently i noticed one of my teeth was lower (more exposed) than its equivalent on the other side. Is there any idea as to what is happening and if there is anything i can do to fix it?

Additional info, i am almost positive i grind my teeth at night and i think i brush a little too hard.

After pulling the tooth, the periodontist did a bone graft with a collagen dressing, then stitched it up. When a bone graft is done, can you still get dry socket? I had dry sockets years ago when my wisdom teeth were pulled, and I'm terrified of it!
