Ice cubes in a quart size Zip-loc freezer bag. Twenty minutes on twenty minutes off.Do not put anything on the removed tooth site/ hole what-so-ever.Cinnamon is a natural anti-coagulant and could cause extensive bleeding, or whats called "dry socket" as a result.(Dry socket slows the healing process down considerably)Don't even go there......Your Mom can also gently swish warm salt water in her mouth a few times each day, and of course spit it out and combined these two things will reduce her pain considerably.Good Luck!

I had all 4 out a few moths ago, and they were all in beddedd, which is worst! and I too, was very swollen! I can't take pills though, so I did not take painkillers. The 2nd day I started taking powered aspirin. I used ice, on and off all day... My swelling lasted for just over a week.. so itshoulld start to get better with in 2 or 3 days. I also had alot of bruising, so just e glad your not too bruised! lol. It will only get better!

IF IT'S HURTING A LOT AFTER 2 DAYS THIS MAY BE A "DRY SOCKET" WHICH IS CAUSED WHEN THE HEALING BLOOD CLOT IS LOST PREMATURELY.
HAVE HER GO BACK TO THE DENTIST TO MAKE SURE IT'S TREATED. MAKE SURE SHE DOESN'T SMOKE OR USE DRINKING STRAWS OR EAT CRUNCY FOODS THAT WOULD GET STUCK IN THE SOCKET.

Ice it.
Apply cinnamon(powdered fine) and honey paste over the gum where it hurts.
The pain will reduce don't worry. If there is an increase in pain or infection kindly visit the dentist again.

Maybe she can put some ice there to make it numb so it wouldn't hurt as much. That's all I know.
