could be an abcess, it`s puss from the infected tooth, want it gone? one method. eat a clove of raw garlic every day till it dissappears don`t chew it swallow it whole you can cut it in half if it`s too big. method two. make a cup of tea(liptons good) and instead of throwing the teabag away squeeze the water out and put this on the bump, leave it on the bump for a couple hours, now this will draw the puss out slowly and it is going to get really sore before it pops and drains the abcess(my dentist told me about this way) and don`t swallow and of the fluid while you are doing this i have done both of these methods before and both do work

The lump is a puss pocket. Your tooth is probably not hurting as bad as it would because the infection has a way to drain by forming that pocket. You really need to go see your dentist and have a root canal done to remove the infected nerve. You will need to be put on antibiotics before the dentist does any treatment on the tooth because the infection can cause you not to be able to get numb. It is not good for your body to have an infection like that. I know that it is hard when you don't have any insurance but talk to your dentist about a payment plan. I am sure that he will be willing to work with you. Good Luck and I hope you get it taken care of soon.

I'm a dentist.

Assuming that this lump resembles a zit, it's called a "parulus", which is simply the exit point of an infection traveling from the tooth's root, through the bone, and out the gum. This is invariably seen from chronic infections, i.e. infections that have been present long enough to eat through the bone and the soft tissue.

Typically, paruli are found on the cheek-side rather than the roof-side because the former makes for an easier path for the infection to travel (i.e. thinner bone followed by thinner soft tissues than those found on the roof-side).

Nonetheless, you need treatment for this tooth (i.e. root canal or extraction). If you cannot receive treatment promptly, antibiotics would be appropriate. Keep in mind that chronic infections, even ones like yours with a path for drainage, while they may be for the most part asymptomatic, can occasionally have acute flare-ups and expand into life-threatening infections within a couple of days.

DO NOT try to medicate yourself with antibiotics. You will make the doctor's work more difficult by doing so. I have yet to encounter a patient who has self-medicated with the correct dose and timing of antibiotics.

I give this 10 hugs! ma wrote one the other day that spoke to me on an intuitive level. Deep as if connected I felt her poem. I know this poem and wish I could have come up with the tools you used to deliver it- I love the way you chose the dictionary, calendar, well meaning and future hope. I really don't think some people will ever feel the realization of deeper understanding. This leaves me with remembering the grief that I am truly alone because nothing and no one can at times make it better. My spirituality is the only porthole and even then because I am not perfect, I doubt. I know I've "gone off" from where this lead but lol that is me. BTW- Love the last line so very much.

It could be a pocket of pus from an infection which would fit in with your inflamation.
Please find a dental clinic that will work with you to scale your payments to your income. Teeth are important as is proper dental care. You can even get a heart infection from a dental infection.

You really need a cycle of antibiotics. There is a pass if it is painful. It could get into your blood and travel to your body. These things are serious. It won't go away on it's own.Got to do something about it.
