I have just had my braces taken off and I noticed that my 2 front teeth do not make any contact with the lower teeth when I bite together. I can clearly put a finger in the gap under the tip of my 2 front teeth.

Does this mean I have a open bite? My dentist has not even mentioned anything about this...but I do know (my own opinion) that the 2 front teeth seem to protrude abit. However, people I have talked to about this have said its in my mind and they do not protrude.

This should have been something your dentist/orthodontist looked at It is an open bite when your upper and lower teeth do not meet That is the reason I had braces for 3 years. I had to wear head gear to pull my jaw back and rubber bands attached to the braces to pull the upper and lower together What exactly did your braces accomplish if you still have a open bite and protruding teeth???? Orthodontics cost way to much I would ask your orthodontist about this or seek a second opinion .

Open bite means, with your mouth open, and closed bite means, with your mouth closed and teeth together.
