I am considering either da vinci or empress veneers- is there a price difference or an appearance/quality difference between the two?

Neither one is better than the other to the degree that you should be asking for it by name. It depends on the lab and your dentist. The choice depends on the situation. The prettiest veneers are often "old fashioned" feldspathic porcelain as made by a dozen manufacturers.

Empress is an excellent product to use as long as you are not trying to mask out defects in color.

DaVinci is a commercial lab in California and "DaVinci Veneers" is just there "rebranded" name for someone else's product. I am not registered at their site, but from the consumer description (½ mm tooth prep, etc.), it sounds like a traditional feldspathic porcelain veneer. It is probably a good choice if your dentist uses DaVinci labs, but 1,000 other labs make the same thing under their own name.
