I have an embarrasing question. I brush my teeth regularly, use mouthwash (listerine) and for the past few days, I've had a horrible taste in my mouth. I know my breath has to stink right along with it. What would cause this? Is there any way to fix it? It's not that my mouth is dry, because I've actually had a lot of moisture lately. UGH!

My dad always told me when I was growing up to be sure to brush my tongue along with the teeth...
The tongue holds on to a lot of bacteria and needs to be cleaned off just like the teeth...

Could be acid reflux. Don't eat right before you go to bed. Maybe drink more water and try an acid reducer. If you use Listerine it will clean your mouth and everyone in the room will know that you are using it. I suggest to use Listerine at least an hour before your date. See a dentist at least once or twice a year too. Oh, some foods like cheese will give you dog breath. Hope it's not that bad. Good luck!

your problem might not be dental at all.... some bacteria in your digestive track produces gas that escapes through the mouth and creates the bad taste.

Could you be pregnant? You also may need to try flossing. Try going to your dentist and let him/her know what you are experiencing and see what comes of it.
