One day, I was brushing verrrrrrry hard because I haven't brushed in a while. Then the next day, I wake up and the top part of my gums are swollen. At first I thought it'd just cool down in a couple hours or so, but its been a couple days after that incident and there still swollen. I know my hard brushing was the cause of it. Do you guys what I can do to get it back to normal?

NEVER EVER EVER brush too hard just because you havent brushed for awhile...

Brushing hard only makes it worse by irritating your gums and over time it will make your gums recede. Your gums are just swollen from the irritation swish with warm salt water nad use mouth wash if you can rush that well.

It will be awhile before your gums heal after it heals

- Use a soft bristled brush or an auto toothbrush
* there really is not reason for you to use a hard brush
or brush very hard... it just does damage
-Floss daily
* Flossing daily really helps get plaque interproximally,
then you wont feel the need to brush so hard
-Use mouthwash without alcohol
* That way it doesnt burn but it still gets the job done try
brand called ACT.

I know thats alot of work... youll be in the bathroom for like 5 min.. but its worth it trust me... doing laittle work no will save you even more work later on.

No need to see a dentist just yet just wit a few more days if the irritation gets worse then see a dentist, if not just keep taking care of it andit will get better.

no there is no "cure". but if severe enough, you can have a gum graft. they will remove gum tissue from another area of your mouth (commonly the palate) and reattach it to the receded area. The swollen feeling can be caused by an infection or the fact that you may need a cleaning and have some tartar/calculus built up under the gum line. make sure you are not brushing too hard or with a firm brush. you should only use a soft bristled tooth brush and a non abrasive toothpaste. For other gum issues try talking to periodontist (gum specialist) instead of a general dentist. hope that was somewhat helpful.

Make an appointment with the dentist, in the meantime, rinse your mouth with salt water 4 times a day, brush your teeth in the morning and in the evening, your dentist will need to look at it, if you ignore the problem, your gums may get worse, salt water rinses should calm it down after a day.
