When they took them off did you have a lot of cavities? I am 13 (was 12 when they took them off) and I brushed my teeth every night but I had 10 cavities! So now I have to go to the dentist every month and get 2 at a time filled. (so far I have gotten 6 filled) Did anyone else have this problem when they got their braces tooken off?

OMG! I had Tons. I was trying so hard to keep brushing but its so hard to get in between and floss constantly. I'm pretty sure I have some now but I also had 10 like you and it hurts so bad to get them filled.

Yes, I had braces for 16 months and when I got them off, even though I had never had a cavity before I got one. My teeth are resistant to things like that, but I think getting your braces off might have that effect on some peoples teeth.

no. braces do not lead to cavities. poor tooth care while having braces lead to cavities. i had braces for about 28 months, and the only cavities i've ever had in my life were 2 in molars just breaking the surface that i couldn't brush, and that was quite a while after my braces were removed.

I had a few, but not that many. It depends on how many sweets you ate with your braces on, how much you brushed your teeth, how much you flossed, and how many times you went to the dentist. Partly, too, the number of cavities you get is just genetic luck.
Sorry.

I think that I had a couple of cavities when my braces finally came off (years ago now for me). It is harder to reach all of the places & spaces, of and in between your teeth with all the hardware on to straighten them.

My brother used to wear braces and he never had alot of cavities afterwards. Are you eating a lot of sweet candy that can stick to your teeth before you can get it off like gummi bears and etc.....?????? That is the only thing I can say. Sorry, that I can not be of more help to you!!!!

your cavities might have formed while you were still wearing your braces. maybe you were not taking good care of your teeth that time. filling those is the only solution for that. don't worry, you're not the only one who has that problem.

Nope. I've only ever had one cavity in my entire life. I had it on a baby tooth. You need to take better care with your diet. It could also be that you just inherited bad teeth from your parents. Yes, blame your parents!
