I had a root canal about 5 years ago and spent a bunch of money on a crown. Now that tooth is hurting really bad at night. The thing is, I had a root canal there before they put the crown in. So if there are no roots on my tooth why does it hurt so bad - and only at night?

The dentist wants to chip a larger piece off so it'll stick. It's a front tooth so I'm not sure if I just need to keep replacing the small bonding or go ahead and have him file off the edge so it's more permanent. Anyone have any advice?

Just got back from the dentist this morning.
I found out that I have chronic Periodontal Disease due to lack of flossing.
I brush my teeth and rinse with mouthwash twice a day but apparently that was not enough!!!

anyways, I have to go under on Thursday for a deep cleaning.
I am scared out of my mind.

But I need to get this undercontrol ASAP , I'm starting to fixate on it.
I went online and did some research, I noticed that Periodontal Disease can cause Heart complications down the road.

I'm 27 years old, I eat right and excercise. I never thought I would have to WORRY about heart disease at this time in my life.

Do I seriously have to worry about this? or am I just overreacting?
I'm really scared. accepting the fact that I have any kind of disease iis scary.
I just want to get my teeth cleaned so I can stop worrying.
From here on out I will never miss a day of flossing.

please any answers or advice is needed.
thanks much

I was looking for a little help in finding an on the market tooth whitening system that works well. I have only ever tried the regular crest white strips, not the newer ones that have come out. The results were good but didn't last long. Suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!

hi i am 25 and have a gap in the front of my teeth. i think its where a tooth never grew. i have been to the orthodontist and he says the gap is too small to put a tooth in, i would have to have a fixed brace for a year to make the gap bigger. i really do not want a brace. i have spoke to my dentist and he says that is the only way. anyone got any ideas without having to wear a brace or pay millions?

My jaw has always popped and clicked but never bothered me. The other day I bit down and it went 'sideways'. Since then I can't clench my teeth fully. No problems opening and closing, but there's that click and I can't clench my molars together. I have pain in the jaw hinge. I'll be seeing a doctor, yes, but I'm wondering if this is typical of TMJ. Anyone know what extended TMJ can mean to a person other than annoyance? Just curious. Thanks for your time!

I have all caps on my top teeth. One cap next to my front tooth fell out of my mouth when I bit into some hard candy. The cap is not broken and it will "fit" back in place. What can I get to make it "stick" in place until I can get to the dentist? Is there something I can buy at the drug store? Also, how much should I expect to pay if I have to get a "bridge" because it doesn't look like there is enough tooth left to put another cap on it. HELP!!!

Because that's what happened when I tried it.
I was wondering if that is a temporary side effect, or if I'm just weird.
Really, my sensitivity isn't bad (stuff out of the refrigerator doesn't bother me, but frozen stuff does), until I tried the toothpaste, then it was so bad I couldn't stand it. I couldn't open my mouth and let in cold air, or I'd scream in pain. That's how bad it was after using it maybe 3 times.

For all the idiots, no I don't use it anymore, I'm just wondering if anyone else had this reaction.

my fiance wants all her wisdom teeth pulled at once. She has two of them that are just barely poking out of the skin but they are coming it at an angle. The top ones are out but just not enough room for all her teeth. Her doc says since she is in her early 20's, the bones are fairly soft and it will not be that bad. He says only 20 minutes and it will be over. Local aneth...Are there any risks to doing it this way? I assume not because the doc says so, but you know how all the horror stories are....
