Does anyone know of a website where I can try different rubber band colors on braces? I know there is one because I found in on the web, but I forgot to save it as one of my favorites and now I can't seem to find the exact website. Or what color would look good for Valentine's Day?? What about Smoke and Fushia??? Thanks!!!

1. When you got your braces (fixed) on, were you unhappy with your image? Were you more satisfied with your looks?

2. What colors bands did you like best on your braces?

3. If you've had them removed, was it worth the trouble in the end?

4. Did you have any difficulties or setbacks with braces? If so, what were they? Can these be prevented?

Just curious; getting braces in 2 days =]
Thanks!

I had a filling last week on 1 of my bottom teeth, everything is fine except I have noticed a weird sensation in it, or rather, on the side of my tongue. If I clench my teeth together I get a feeling rather like if you accidently touched a filling with a piece of foil, on my tongue. It doesn't hurt but it feels odd and I wondered why it's happening and should I mention it to my dentist next time I go?

Thank you.

Had a molar and a wisdom tooth extracted yesterday. The clots are both gone and I can see bone. There's no pain yet, but I'm worried that it will start soon. Any advice on this?

I went in to get root canal therapy earlier today and now I am in a lot of pain (temporary fillings and I have to go back in in two weeks to finish up). I took some prescribed penicillin and vicodin and they help, but my molar is still extremely sensitive and I get that constant, painful nerve feeling. Is it ok to take some advil with it too?

Back in December, I came across the concept of "Oil Pulling", or oil swishing. Basically you swish or 'pull' oil through and in and around your mouth, and then spit it out.
I began swishing sunflower oil in my mouth for 10-15 minutes in the mornings...

I noticed a change within 3 days, but I was skeptical and wanted to be absolutely certain.

I started doing this December 15th. I can honestly say that the plaque and tartar are gone and my teeth are whiter.
They're also much thicker and feel more solid in my mouth. Plus my gums are improving quite a bit.

Six months ago, I was looking at having all my teeth pulled and getting dentures. I don't have to do that anymore. :)

Oil pulling is DEFINITELY worth a try, imo!!!

There doesnt seem to be any obvious reason why they occur. Can you suggest any causes? If you can suggest any solutions too, that'd be great!

(Im 21 years old, quite healthy generally, NOT overweight and I believe that I exercise more than the average person my age)

I used to get ulcers more frequently (once a month maybe) about a year ago, but it has been about 4-6 months since I last had one and then WHAM! Two at once.

To make matters worse, one is in the top right of my mouth on the inside of my lip, and the other attached to the underside of my tongue on the left side - so I my mouth is pretty much impassable when it comes to eating. I still eat (who doesnt?!?!) but it is bloody painful when I do.

Any help is much appreciated, thanks.

I had braces for three years and I wore my retainer every day for 14 months, just as my orthodontist had said. But, because I was afraid something would come "undone," I still wore it for 18 months LONGER than my orthodontist said I needed to wear it. I only slowed down from wearing it every day to every other day and at night this past summer and I am noticing that my teeth are spreading back apart. So, I was hoping there was some way to fix it without having to wear braces again. Thanks for your help!

I was wondering what antibiotics to take before doing some dental work? I need the name of the antibiotic because I have to tell the doctor in the drugstore. (I don't live in a place where I need to get prescription for medicine and people just buy medicine in the drug stores.. so I'll need the name.) Thanks

I have been trying to figure out what my outcome may be. I have an apmt on Friday but meanwhile I am very scared. 10 years ago I had a root canal...never had any problems with it. As of October when I had my last root canal (next to the 10yr old RC), both teeth have been tap sensitive. Dentist took xrays 2 times. See's no infection or problem other than the old RC appears too blurry to see if it was done correctly. Is it possible that there is an infection occurring due to the trauma from the RC but not the root it'self? I mean, bruising? What could be wrong? One has a post and one does not. I would really rather avoid oral surgery.... I have spent all my savings on this last RC. Any advice would be appreciated. That old RC is 10 years old. From what I can see it doesn't look infected....neither does the other RC. I see no abcess at all. But, putting pressure on my face in that area is a bit tender. Please can a pro please advise. Thank you.

Hey, when dentists give you laughing gas (Nitrous Oxide), is the feeling it gives you what it feels like to be high? Just wondering...

If you read my last 3 questions, I have been worried about 2 of my teeth that I got fillings in not more than 2 months ago.

One tooth is sensitive to cold or hot and lingers for about 3-5 seconds.

The other tooth, when I bite down on something hard and/or crunchy, I get a quick minor pain in my tooth.

No pain at night, no pain when I am not eating.

So I told my dentist all of this and he simply had me bite down on carbon paper. Then he used one of those tools to even it out I guess. Will doing something this simple get rid of the little pain and the sensitivity my two teeth have? I read that my fillings may have been too "high." I am going back in two weeks to check on them but I am wondering when and if I will notice a difference.
