I had braces for three years and I wore my retainer every day for 14 months, just as my orthodontist had said. But, because I was afraid something would come "undone," I still wore it for 18 months LONGER than my orthodontist said I needed to wear it. I only slowed down from wearing it every day to every other day and at night this past summer and I am noticing that my teeth are spreading back apart. So, I was hoping there was some way to fix it without having to wear braces again. Thanks for your help!

the most expensive option would be to have veneers put on your front two teeth. veneers are a thin shell of porcelain that is permanently cemented to the teeth.
the other option is to have your dentist do what's called chairside veneers or just large composite fillings that basically just fills in the gaps. lots of people do this, it's more economical, but you need to be very careful when biting into things such as carrots or frozen snickers.
i hope that helps!!

I guess it depends on how far the teeth have moved, but we have made a small appliance that you can't see from the front it is called a "hawley appliance" it will do a small amount of tooth repositioning in a relatively small amount of time. I would get a permanent fixed retainer if I were you, then you wouldn't have to worry about your retainer! Be sure you ask your dentist or orthodontist about a hawley, it isn't for everyone but it could be an option.

go back to the orthodontist and he should be able to refit you with a new retainer. A friend of mine had a band put on a back tooth on each side and has a permanent one on the back side of her teeth Also you could get porcelain veneers put on the front that will not fix it but will hide it.

You can either have porcelain veneers done or composite veneers done. Ask your general dentist if these would be a good option for you.

My bestfriend had her space filled by the dentist. You can't even tell that she ever had a space.

JENNIFER,
CONSIDER HAVING CMPOSITES OR VENEERS TO CLOSE THIS SPACE, OR TALK TO YOUR ORTHO FOR A SOLUTION.
