Hey, when dentists give you laughing gas (Nitrous Oxide), is the feeling it gives you what it feels like to be high? Just wondering...

yeah you are actually getting high
typical effects :
hysiological effects last a minute or two for a lungful of nitrous and then mainly dissipate. Some residual effects may last up to several minutes later. Unlike other drugs, the effects of nitrous very rapidly recede. As noted in 1845, "Those who inhale the Gas once, are always anxious to inhale it the second time." When inhaled, nitrous produces a variety of physical effects including:
* Disorientation (both spatial and time-based)
* Fixated vision
* Throbbing or pulsating auditory hallucinations
* Similarly pulsating visual hallucinations
* Increased pain threshold
* Deeper mental connections
* Lowered vocal pitch (opposite of helium)
the dangers are like normal drug dangers. A differing sense of direction, and disoreination mean you shouldn't drive afterward or take too mcuh

A Nitrous high is similar to some street drugs, but the feeling you get from most other drugs (like marijuana) is quite a bit different in my opinion.

Yes, and dental work is much better with gas! I had teeth removed on it and now am having dental work with just novicaine and no gas. It is much more annoying without the gas! Ohhhh, and I lied and said I weighed more than I actually did so they gave me more gas, what a silly teenager I was:) The room and the voices in the room started spinning.

actually, they are literally making you high. i love it. i actually had a bunch of laughing gas yesterday because i had a cavity drilled. b*tches didn't give me novicaine though. just bunches of laughing gas.
