I went to to the orthodontist the other day for a consultation about having braces (I am an adult by the way). The orthodontist said I am suitable for treatment. The reason I am having orthodontic treatment is because I have overcrowding of the 4 front upper teeth. My two front teeth are situated in front of my other teeth (they do not protrude however). The rest of my teeth however are not overcrowded, and are in a straight line. However my orthodontist said I don't need to have any teeth removed because there is enough room for the teeth to be corrected into their correct position. But I don't see how the front 4 teeth can be moved without my other teeth being moved back slightly. Because my wisdom teeth have come through, there is no more room in my mouth for the teeth to move back without some being removed. Is it possible to have teeth moved without removal of other teeth?

there are few little black spots on my teeth, I go to the dentist every year. but every time I visit him, he says it's not cavity, they are just beginning of cavity and if you brush your teeth they won't get bigger, I've had them since I was 6 and they really didn't get any bigger since then (since I started to brush my teeth), so doesn that means that not all cavities get bigger?

Last night I woke up and rolled over in bed. A few seconds later my jaw suddenly opened and snapped shut very fast and extremely forcefully. I thought my teeth would shatter it was so forceful. It hurt. Does anyone know what that might be? I think I'm going to buy a mouth guard of some sort.

He said I needed a root canal (it would cost about £500) on two teeth. Then he said if I don't want root canal as it's so expensive (I haven't got that money!) he'll give me antibiotics and then put fillings in. He said sooner or later the infection will come back and then I'll need either to remove those teeth or do root canal then.
Is that true?

I have VHI dental cover, however, it does not cover anesthetic or any works done in a hospital or dental surgery done by a dental oral surgeon only covers the actually pulling of the tooth. In irelan you can use your PRSI stamps but that only covers bout €100 of the cost. does any one know how i can reclaim the majority of the cost of the entire thing its looking like its going to be over €1000

I have the stitches from my wisdom tooth extraction removed two weeks ago. Currently there is still a gap in the place where my wisdom tooth used to be. Is this normal? My tissue is not covering up the gap, how long does it usually take for it to completely cover up the gap? I removed one wisdom tooth before this one and just about a day or two later, the gap is covered up completely. So this time i am quite worried. Please post a reply to my question, any help will be appreciated.
