Besides over the counter items....fill a glass to about 2 ounces of warm water and sprinkle salt and a teaspoon of peroxide. It doesn't take good but rinsing (not swallowing) does clean out infection in your mouth and help numb and deminish tooth pains, etc..

I don't believe fluoride will stop pain. get yourself the sensodyne tooth paste and use it. it's good for de-sensitizing your teeth. meanwhile, get yourself some cloves. If you have whole ones, hold one near the tooth that is causing problems. If you have ground cloves- put a little around the tooth - but not too much as it can irratate your gums. there are products on the market for helping numb problem teeth. If you have a local drug store, go there and check it out. otherwise- go back to the dentist and make him look again. It could be ok in a few days like he says.

Your nerve is infected. It can spread and infect the healthy nerves of other teeth and move and obviously it has to your ear.

Do not wait. You need to either get it extracted or get a root canal done on it. You need antibiotics as well at this point I think.

Don't wait or it can get very, very serious. Whatever it costs, work out a payment plan. You have no choice now but to take action. The dentist who filled it did a sh*tty job and should not have filled it knowing it was likely a deep cavity and that it was already flaring up too. He should pull it for you which would be the quickest and cheapest way to resolve it and frankly he shouldn't even charge you for it.

Dip a small piece of cotton in clove oil and place it right on the tooth tha tis hurting you. You will be relieved in minutes. It may cause a little bit of discomfort in the beginning, but eventually, it will numb that tooth. Massage the ouside of your neck where it leads to the ear with some pain relieving cream like Bengay or something. Good luck dear...take care. I absolutely understand what you are going through.

You are probably going to have to go back to the dentist. It could be that the tooth is getting infected. The dentist can only fill so much. Plus, return to the same dentist and have them look at it. Could be the filling is too tight. Sometimes that can cause problems too. If that's the case, then, the dentist should fix the problem with out charging you. Or, it could be that the filling was so deep that it is hitting a nerve. But, you won't know until you go get it checked out.

go to dentist and remove your filling, then take advise from your dentist weather your tooth is in condition for root canal treatment or for episectomy and if your dentist says yes so go through it, otherwise get your tooth extract. because you have already tried so many pain killers. my other advise is also try some antibiotics with the combination therapy. this might also give you some relief.

You don't need pain medication, you need antibiotics. The reason that it hurts so bad is that your nerve is infected. If you can afford to go to the doctor, a prescription for penicillin is only about $4 at walmart. But seriously, if you take antibiotics the pain should subside in a matter of hours.

Call your dentist. He or she may be able to call in a prescription for antibiotics for you, probably amoxicillin (unless you have a penicillin allergy). They'll probably give you enough for a week. Take ALL of them as directed to treat the infection. You should be good for at least a few weeks before the infection starts to bother you again, so in the meantime, start saving to get it out. That's the only way you'll be able to get rid of the pain.

Sometimes if you call your regular dentist, he will try to help you out...if he is nice...I had a bad one once and I called the pharmacy and they said that I could take Aspirin with Tylenol at the same time. (just don't mix Aspirin with motrin, naprosyn or the like)...also universities have dental clinics that are cheaper, but still cost...

You could try clove oil on it(that you cook with) , I have never tried that but a pharmacist used to tell me that can work at times.

I know I got so desperate that I started looking at antique toothpullers on ebay. Found one made of buffalo horn....
