there are few little black spots on my teeth, I go to the dentist every year. but every time I visit him, he says it's not cavity, they are just beginning of cavity and if you brush your teeth they won't get bigger, I've had them since I was 6 and they really didn't get any bigger since then (since I started to brush my teeth), so doesn that means that not all cavities get bigger?

It's called "incipient caries" when it's just the first stage of demineralization on the enamel. They CAN lead to a larger cavity, but can also stop developing as yours has or even remineralize if a thin layer of enamel is still intact. Demineralization and remineralization go back and forth all the time in your mouth and it appears that your rate is balanced so that they cancel each other out. It's been like that since you were 6 and haven't advanced, so I don't think they're going anywhere. Just keep them clean and, if you're really concerned about it, add a fluoride rinse and sugarless gum (with xylitol in it) to your regular routine. =)

Eventually all cavities get bigger but as your dentist has told you if you take care you can significantly slow down the process. Any time you get a filling, your tooth is drilled which makes it a bit more fragile, that is why it's better to wait until the beginning of cavities become cavities instead of putting unnecessary stress on the tooth. Of course once you have a cavity - you'll find out by having regular check-ups - it should be treated.

what ever the type of cavity it is, but cavities get bigger one day, and as u have some black spots already so they are just beginning, keep your teeth clean as much as possible, and talk to your dentist and tell him excavate your cavity from your teeth and fill it with some cement so it wont cause any serious trouble in future...

This does not sound right to me and am wondering if you shouldn't see a new dentist for a second opinion. Also you should be seeing your dentist every 6 months not yearly.

I had a black spot on my tooth for a long time and never questioned it but about 6 months ago that tooth started to bother me and I ended up with a $850.00 root canal becuz the nerve was dieing, thank god the tooth was still strong enough that I didn't have to get it capped becuz that would have been around another $850.00.

sounds like they are areas on yr teeth where the enamel started to break down but then stabilized. I would ask another dentist, or look on a dental web site.
