Hi...i just had a question about my retainer. I got a top and bottom retainer, both with wires, (not permanent, or cemented) after i got my braces off. I've had the retainers for about 6 months now, and ive tried, and tried to keep them clean. It hasnt worked very well. I've soaked them in mouthwash, scrubbed them with a new toothbrush and they are still gross!!! i know they wont be perfectly clean, but i was just wondering...what do you guys do 2 clean them!!!

I got my 4 widom teeth pulled 9 hours ago (from post) and from my lower lip to chin (including tongue) is still numb. At the dentist I had an IV and the K.O gas before the operation, though I never fully loss conscience, if i was supposed to. I'm jus wondering if there's anyway I could stop the numbness or speed up the process of being "unnumbed". I've allready taked 3 naps, eaten hot soup, and cold ice cream.

i got punched in the jaw about a month ago.... it didnt feel like it was broken , just bit the inside of my cheek a bit , i was able to eat and open my mouth , but the next day it felt like the muscle had swollen , like reallly hard , and it was stopping me from opening wide.... i thought it may just be swelling so i left it like that for 3 weeks, since then its only gotten worse... i can only open my mouth about 1 cm.... i can chew , and my jaw doesnt hurt, but when i try to open wide it feels like theres a not or something in my muscle.... i went to the DOC and she said that she couldnt do anything... that it looked like a cyst or blood clot and that if it doesnt get better within a month to go see a specialist.... that wasnt really helpfull and it still hasnt gotten any better , i cant fit anything in my mouth ... only spaghetti, will i ever be able to open my mouth again :S

if you took the time to read this... thank you so much , any advice or opinions would be great ..

I'm very nervous about being put under due to possible complications (1 in 200,000 chance) but I can't take the idea of local anesthesia. I'm going to be see an oral surgeon who was reffered to me by my dentist, he will administer my anesthesia. There will also be a nurse present. Is it normal for a surgeon to administer anesthesia rather than an anesthesiologist for minor surgery?

What is it? Is that what causes bad breath? how does it form and develop. Whats the best way of removing it. How come sometimes its very visibile while other times its not? Is the white stuff and indication of anything i.e health? or not related to anything.

I just moved out of my house and when my tooth started to hurt I was told I would need a root canal. My father gave me a sum of money for christmas and I told him i got the tooth fixed. My fiance and I ended up needing the money for things that came up and to get our new place. Now my father wants a reciept so he can pay the bill for me and I wanted to know if or how I can ask a dentist office for a reciept just to keep my dad at bay. If there are any dentists in the area of VA Beach willing to help me please email me!

The ones that claim to be the exact same stuff that dentists use.

Does anyone have experience of them? Are they safe? Do they work? Thankyou.

Hi, one of my molars have been cracked for sometime and my dentist said I need a bridge done, but the problem is the dentist will need to shave off some tooths which I feel uncomfortable doing. Are implants a better choice?

I had braces for 5 years, and during that time my ortho had me use fluoride twice a day. Now I find out that even though it made them otherwise healthy, fluoride actually darkens your teeth! Also, my teeth are very sensitive since the braces came off (even though that was over a year ago). I have had in-office bleaching done at my dentist, and it did lighten me a couple shades, but it hurt soooooooooooo bad for about 3 days afterward, like the air was too cold and it felt like my teeth were about to fall out. Same thing with white strips. So I'm going to have to go with something gentler in the future. I went through 5 years of braces, and it cost a lot of money and a lot of pain, and I want to be happy with my smile. Does anyone know of a whitening toothpaste or mouthwash that really works?
