I had braces for 5 years, and during that time my ortho had me use fluoride twice a day. Now I find out that even though it made them otherwise healthy, fluoride actually darkens your teeth! Also, my teeth are very sensitive since the braces came off (even though that was over a year ago). I have had in-office bleaching done at my dentist, and it did lighten me a couple shades, but it hurt soooooooooooo bad for about 3 days afterward, like the air was too cold and it felt like my teeth were about to fall out. Same thing with white strips. So I'm going to have to go with something gentler in the future. I went through 5 years of braces, and it cost a lot of money and a lot of pain, and I want to be happy with my smile. Does anyone know of a whitening toothpaste or mouthwash that really works?

I feel your pain. I tried the whitestrips, and they sent shooting pains into my teeth so bad that I had tears in my eyes! I have tried gels also, but those hurt too.
I am a coffee drinker, and my teeth do have a tendency to get yellow, so I needed something that was powerful but gentle. I love Rembrandt's Dazzling White, it works great, and it's less than $15!
Try it, I think you'll get hooked like me...

Crest Whitening Mouthwash.

I saw a difference in about 3 weeks of using it twice a day.

They have a tooth whitening pen out now. I just don't know who sells it. Check out the internet and QVC.com. Good luck.
