I just moved out of my house and when my tooth started to hurt I was told I would need a root canal. My father gave me a sum of money for christmas and I told him i got the tooth fixed. My fiance and I ended up needing the money for things that came up and to get our new place. Now my father wants a reciept so he can pay the bill for me and I wanted to know if or how I can ask a dentist office for a reciept just to keep my dad at bay. If there are any dentists in the area of VA Beach willing to help me please email me!

Why don't you just tell the truth? My husband and I are trouble with his daughter constantly lying to us. Yeah...really sucks because you can't believe anything she says anymore. Very sad indeed. Maybe your dad wants a reciept because he knows that you used the money for something else.

No dentist is going to risk their reputation because you are dishonest. Your Dad probably wants a receipt so that he can write of the bill on his taxes. If he was to do so and the dentist never did the procedure that dentist could be in hot water with the IRS. Face your Dad and tell him the truth

You cannot. A receipt issued by the Dentists office says that they received money. They did not. Since they did no work for you.

It sounds like you are actually talking about a billing statement.and if they did no work, they would not have sent a billing statement.

You better fess up to your Father. You are not old enough to be engaged if you do not comprehend this.

nah, just tell the truth to your dad. when you tell the truth, it's only the money you lose. but if you lie and give him a fake receipt, you lose your dad's trust and you lose self integrity. go ahead tell the truth and explain to him why you used the money for something else, old good dad will understand.
