Last night I woke up and rolled over in bed. A few seconds later my jaw suddenly opened and snapped shut very fast and extremely forcefully. I thought my teeth would shatter it was so forceful. It hurt. Does anyone know what that might be? I think I'm going to buy a mouth guard of some sort.

wow! I have tmj and sometimes feels like my jaw is going to lock but I never had that. You might want to talk to a dentist

Ouch! I know how you feel I have TMJ, so I frequenly have jaw problems... and I grind my teeth ( not just when Im sleeping either) and sometimes I yawn an my jaw shakes like a spasm. so I can relate.... it may just be a freak one time thing, however you may need to talk to a dentist about it...
