Keep an eye on that tooth. Trauma, such as hitting your mouth while falling off your bike, can lead to an inflammed nerve. This will lead to root canal treatment. If the area becomes swollen, infected, or you loose feeling of that tooth you are a candidate.

If the chip is small and unnoticable a dentist can polish it for you so you don't feel a sharp edge.

If the chip is rather large, your options will most likely be to bond it (white filling) or crown it. This all depends on the advice of your dentist. A white filling is cheaper and not as strong, but will do for the time being. A crown is cemented on top of your natural tooth and will last longer than a filling.

You will be able to have it fixed! After reading your extra comment, it sounds like you will just need to have the tooth polished. This is the least costly of all of the mentioned procedures. Cost depends on your state and area. It shouldn't be more than $100 (if that). Keep in mind some dentists will charge an emergency fee or office visit fee as well.

If you don't have insurance find a dentist in your area that works with Care Credit. www.carecredit.com

This company pays the Dr. for services rendered and you pay them on a monthly basis with no interest! If they don't list dentists in your area on the web site, call some local dentists and see if they will work with you or if they know of an office that works with Care Credit.

Maybe the dentist chipped your tooth when extracting your wisdom tooth. Plus when you get your wt cut out they can hurt for awhile. All 4 of mine were cut out at the same time and I still felt pain in them a year later.

If it's just a tiny chip, then they'll probably just smooth it down for you. You won't need freezing or anything since it's just in the enamel. A filling likely wouldn't stay for very long if it's just on the biting edge of your front tooth. If you hit it really hard, they may take an xray just to make sure there is no other damage. Good luck. =)

Yes, it can be fixed. Do you have the piece chipped off? In some instances if you have the piece and can get to the dentist immediately, they may be able to do somethiing right away. If you don't have the piece, make an appt with your dentist.
