You can have them as long as you still have your teeth. Speaking from experience, I think that is a great age if you can wait that long. Because your teeth continue to move throughout your life, and this way you will enjoy those beautiful teeth when you are old enough to enjoy them. Take it from me, both my husband and myself have had two sets each, and my kid had to get early and she almost needs to have another set and not yet of of her teens. Go for it! You won't be sorry, plus they make them clear now so no one will eeven notice them.

A child should have his first appointment with an orthodontist around age 7 to determine if there are other problems, such as a narrow arch or an incorrect bite. These problems can be corrected before braces are put on the teeth. As far as an upper age, as long as you have teeth, there is no age limit. I was 49 when I decided to get braces. It took 20 months and my braces have been off for 3 months. Treatment does not take longer if you are older. If you are in your 30s, there should be no hesitation as to getting braces. You'll be so glad you did. Good luck.

I hated my teeth most of my life until i decided to get braces a couple of years ago, i was 30 then. You are never too old. I was a bit worried at first about people laughing but they didn't. Everyone would either comment on there own teeth or tell me there own teeth stories and in all were really supportive. I paid £2000 for mine but i needed quite a lot of prep work first, my friends were £1500. I had them removed last year and its the best thing i ever done, i am always smiling now. Like i say you are never too old, a women i know was 45 when she got hers. Go for it, i promise (after the first week!) you wont regret it x

There is not an age limit. I know my former neighbor had braces at like 40 and her teeth look great now.

there is no maximum age for wearing braces. The only caveat is that treatment takes a longer time as you get older. The benefit of braces is mainly improved esthetics, and to a small extent, function.

well there is no top limit.. you can get them at any age while an adult.. But as for young.. I had an orthodontist tell me.. The child needs to have had all his adult teeth in before trying to straighten them. cause if they say otherwise they are liars and sucking the money out of you by straightening baby teeth when they will fall out and new teeth grow in crooked and they turn around and have to straighten them as well.. Some orthodontists do this, but I think its to get more money.. Id say start looking at your teens teeth around age 13 or above to see if they have all their teeth in first.. otherwise get your pocket book handy.. you will be paying tons..
