Hell no honey! My mom and dad died in their late eighties with EVERY tooth and no mouth diseases. My mom was a big believer in check ups and flossing. They had great smiles even when they died at 85 and 89. If anyone thinks it is genetic.....they BOTH had all their teeth at death.

No. Although dentistry has been around for thousands of years many naturally living tribes etc have very good. All starts to fail when western diets and sugars arrive on the scene - without perfect health care.
It's another urban myth that keeps the likes of dentists in $£. Just like the 1's that say that our minds/memories etc decay as we get older (notwithstanding alzheimers etc).
Your beliefs in your health will affect the health that you get. (not the only factor of course) I aim to live with positive ones.
I was scared off dentists when I was told I needed 8 fillings - I couldn't afford them. and didn't visit for about 5 years -strangely at this later point I then didn't need any. Somehow I don't think they healed up with all of my chocolate intake etc. I often rub mine over with a clean flannel during the day, as I've heard too much brushing can corrode the enamel. Got most left at 45... long way to go yet.

Not as long as you look after them. Sometimes when you are older teeth can fall out due to gums receding but this is rare unless you have gum disease.
As long as you visist the dentist regularly now and get any problems sorted then there is no reason why you shouldnt be able to keep your teeth.

As long as you are looking after yout teeth now you will be fine. But genetics can also play a factor in tooth loss.

Well as long as the decayed areas of the teeth are now filled, and as long as you now have good oral hygiene (brush at least twice a day, floss and mouthwash), and do not smoke I can't see why your teeth will not last.

No of course not. My Father was 81 when he died and he had all his teeth. If you clean them at least twice a day or after meals and visit the dentist on a regular basis then you could keep your teeth 'til you die!

No it is not, but with that said, gum disease is the biggest reason for people loosing their teeth, so look after your gums as well as your teeth. And don't think that a stiff brush is better than a soft one, Its not. gentle brushing for longer is better than hard brushing for a shorter time, and you don't push your gums back, which opens you up to infection.
Good luck and keep smiling xx

you should not lose you teeth in your life time if you brush, floss and regular cleanings and check ups. now if you smoke crack or meth. i would say you got about 6 months. and that inevitable!!!!!

No hun it isnt. as long as you look after them you should have them all when you reach 100 or older. Unless you get some kind of gum disease, then its good look.
