I've been wearing soft contacts for about 5 or 6 years now, and they have been great for me until now. It started about 2 months ago. Everytime I wear my contacts my eyes get red and irritated, and it's very painful. I have been wearing glasses lately to see if this solves the problem. It doesn't seem like it does because my eyes still get red around evening time everyday. I try clear eyes, but that only gives me relief for a little while, then it comes back worse. I dont think I have dry eyes. Although I have been smoking a lot lately. Could this be the problem? I have tried quitting to see if this was the problem, but i just can't help myself. I hate wearing glasses, so if anyone knows what's going on with my eyes please let me know. Thank you.

Had a mouth abscess since Wednesday, my cheek has really swollen up and feels like I have a golf ball wedged under, I can’t open my mouth more than 1cm. I tried to get a dentist appointment but they can’t see me for 5 days (typical) so I went to the Doctors surgery who gave me ‘Amoxicillin’ have been on this now for 30 hrs but still there is no improvement, in fact I feel worse now than I did before. How long does it take for the antibiotics to kick in as I meant to be going to a friend’s 30th birthday tomorrow and don’t wanna turn up looking like the elephant man.

Also would it be safe if I needled the blister and then spat all the fluid out.

I am a type one diabetic and am trying to lose weight. I am on the pump. Ive been told a diet low in carbs is the way to go. I dont eat bread, sweets or anything. At the most, my carbs are from maybe a bowl of popcorn or fruits. My question is, will i still lose weight if i eat an apple or do i have to give up carbs completely? I also exercise everyday, so there shouldnt be any reason why i shouldnt lose weight right?

I am 47, female, a triathelete (I work out A LOT) and during a strenous swim workout had heaviness and a dull pain in my chest. I had convinced myself it was muscular in nature BUT after 44 laps I quit and drove myself to the hospital. After a work up that included numerous EKG's (several were abnormal), echocardiogram and a heart cath, my arteries are perfectly normal and the only real abnormality was a high white count. Now what? I still have this pain, BUT it hasn't changed character and so the doctors aren't hugely worried. Should I get a second opinion?

I am 12 weeks. I have been feeling very thirsty and having a dry mouth for a week. I have an appointment today with my OB/GYN. My questions are:
1- In addition to the dipstick urine test they do at each visit, what other tests can they order? Glucose tolerance test? What else?
2- Is it OK to fast for 8 hours like from 7 am to 3 pm? It is important to my scedulale to do the test today not next week. Is water allowed?

I have had the stomach flu since wednesday! i was hoping that it'd only be a 24 hour thing, but no such luck. when is it time to go see a doctor? also, what can i do to alleviate the symptoms? oh and i am also wondering how i could tell if i was dehydrated... i haven't felt up to drinking or eating much at all. i don't feel like i can keep ANYTHING down and am so nauseous and just don't even feel like drinking anything. i know i should, but it's hard :( sorry if this post was a bit "woe is me" haha

I drink lots of water and I feel better for a little while but then dehydration occurs again. At night I sometimes wake up and need to drink water. That is my only problem otherwise I have lots of energy, am very focused and healthy.
What can possibily be causing this dehydration within me?????

I have diarrhoea. My tummy started feeling funny yesterday, and then early this morning it all broke loose. Anyway, I’m going with the theory that I’ve got some mild food poisoning. Question is, what can I do to stop it? I’m drinking warm water, as suggested by my mum, but I’m also getting tummy cramps now, nothing too severe but strong enough for me to pop pain killers.
Is there anything I can eat to stop this?

I work about 10 hrs a day so I don't have time to go to the gym. The other day I realized that my chair goes back quite a bit. I did about 20 "crunches" or so by leaning back and tighting my stomach as I came back up. I was sore the next day so it seems like it's doing something. Is this a good idea? Would it work if I keep doing it everyday?(I already eat healthy I just need the exercise part in there)

My last period was October 23 and ended on the 26. I took two pregnancy test a couple days apart about 4 days ago. I just had a baby in July. I have had a period Aug, Sep and Oct. Could my period still being messed up cause of my recent baby or could my negative test be wrong? I know that not all home pregnancy tests are accurate but I would have thought they would be able to pick up the pregnancy hormone by now. Has this happend to anyone or someone you know?

and i cant take any birth control cause i have to take 2 kinds of blood pressure meds and they would interact with each other
i woulndt say i was stressed out either

I smoked weed about 2 and a half weeks ago and i have to do a drug test for my new job next week...any tips besides detox(because they test for that) that i can get the TCH out of my system?? Will drinking lots of water and cranberry juice help?? Please i need some help here...

last week i fell heavily and smashed my elbow with such force i cannot even tell you.
since then my arm is really painful either side of my elbow and i have hardly any feeling from my fingers to my armpit
However, i can still use my arm and my hand although it it painfull.
Is it possible to break your arm, yet still be able to move it?
i hate to bother the doctor for something silly

I was diagnosed with depression (after first being diagnosed with anxiety) by my doctor, who said I needed to go see a psychiatrist.

I'm going in a few hours, but I'm a bit nervous, because I definitely don't like talking about it.

ok so hi
my cousin has Aspergers and everyone at school is really mean to him because he just flips everytime someone looks at him! He always swears and its really emarissing. I love him soooooo much and i hate seeing him getting teased i tried explaining to some people but they just said to controll him and thats the thing I CANT!!! I'm 21 years old. for about the last 5-6 years when I pee sometimes it will spray in a different direction usually downward and to the right or just drip. When I say spray I mean a mild spray and not just another stream. The regular stream stays going while this happens. Also my pee doesn't just stop, it slows to a drip before I'm done and a lot of times even after this some more come out when I put it away. This can become embarrassing because it can get on my pants or go on the floor etc. and I have to clean it up. I've asked different doctors and they have not had an answer for me. I have been checked for STD's multiple times in the last 5-6 years and have all been negative. Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone know what this could be and how to solve it?
