I work about 10 hrs a day so I don't have time to go to the gym. The other day I realized that my chair goes back quite a bit. I did about 20 "crunches" or so by leaning back and tighting my stomach as I came back up. I was sore the next day so it seems like it's doing something. Is this a good idea? Would it work if I keep doing it everyday?(I already eat healthy I just need the exercise part in there)

I can also do these mini crunches through out the day since I sit here all day. I just want to know if they will be effective or just make me sore for no reason.

Heck, you can do crucnches while just standing and waiting for the bus. Just squeeze your stomach muscles together, hold it and count down from "15." Remeber to breath after each one. There you go, you just did a crunch.

I am sure they are effective on some level. Make sure you are pulling your naval toward your backbone when you do your crunches so that you don't "train" your muscles outward!!

I brought a fitness ball to work and sometimes sit on that. If you have your own office, you could take a ten minute break here and there and do some crunches on a fitness ball.

Leg-lifts, which can be done vertically or horizontally, if that makes any sense. Scissors, a.k.a. "Hello Dolly's", which can also be done vertically or horizontally, but I've never heard of anyone surviving trying to do vertically. These are both primarily for the lower abdominals. Ah, yes: The exercise wheel. This also affects arms and back and is probably the most efficient overall torso exercise I've ever come across if you're into the most pain (results) for your training.

sure but you also want to bend your body to the side if possible so as not to just do the front muscles,, you can also do tricep raises by leaning back against your desk and dipping down so your arms take your weight, lower yourself ( legs out as far as possible) and build up sexy arms
