There are no drinks enjoyed more throughout the world than soda, particularly Coca Cola brand soda. However, many people do not consider the health concerns linked with soda. Like most other sweets, such as cake, ice cream and cookies, it is fine to have a soda once in a while. But many people drink over a can a day, without thinking twice about what exactly they are doing to their bodies.
Coke contains over 70 grams of sugar per 20 oz bottle. That relates to about 300 calories, all from sugar. So if a person drinks two bottles of Coke in one day, that's around 600 calories - close to 1/3 of the amount of calories you are supposed to take in for an entire day. Not only that, but these calories come from an artificial sugar - high fructose corn syrup. This sugar has been linked to diabetes and insulin resistance.
Many elementary schools have Coke vending machines where children grow up drinking Coke, again never understanding the damages they are doing to their bodies.
