So men have a lot of testosterone (male hormone) and as I understand it... a little oestrogen - the predominant female hormone. Testosterone is made in our testicles... but where do we men, get oestrogen from?

If women have some testosterone but no testicles (LOL ~ at least none that I've met so far)... where did they get that testosterone from?

I just had my second child and would like to wait three to four years before having another since I have two under two. I am looking into a IUD, but am unsure if I would like Paraguard or Mirena more. I didn't want to do hormonal control, but Paraguard has been known to cause longer bleeding and I already have heavy period. Any advice?

There are no drinks enjoyed more throughout the world than soda, particularly Coca Cola brand soda. However, many people do not consider the health concerns linked with soda. Like most other sweets, such as cake, ice cream and cookies, it is fine to have a soda once in a while. But many people drink over a can a day, without thinking twice about what exactly they are doing to their bodies.

Coke contains over 70 grams of sugar per 20 oz bottle. That relates to about 300 calories, all from sugar. So if a person drinks two bottles of Coke in one day, that's around 600 calories - close to 1/3 of the amount of calories you are supposed to take in for an entire day. Not only that, but these calories come from an artificial sugar - high fructose corn syrup. This sugar has been linked to diabetes and insulin resistance.

Many elementary schools have Coke vending machines where children grow up drinking Coke, again never understanding the damages they are doing to their bodies.

My online friend, a 15 year old female (I'm 16) has been struggling with depression for a long time. She has recently been released from a mental health facility in Canada. In the last few days she has been telling me about her plan to end her life tomorrow night. I don't have her full name or number at home, or I would call her Mum.

She has it all planned down to the last detail, has written her note (she showed me it) and has all the equipment she needs to do it. I really think she 100% intends to do this. I've been through this with other people so I know that this is different, more serious.

I've told her how much she means to me and how much she matters and that I love her and will be there but she won't budge. Is there anything I can say? What will numb the guilt and pain of not being able to help her? I'm totally lost when usually I'm the one with all the answers. Please help.

I'm 29 and I've never had the flu, never got sick to the point of throwing up. I've had colds, but never a really bad flu.

But two days ago, I was out and about the whole day running errands, and when I got home in the afternoon I started to not feel well. My arms were achy, but I don't have any throat problem and my stomach doesn't hurt. I just feel achy. My nose is running.

I felt better yesterday, but it still hasn't left.

I am a nanny to three children. Many of the other neighborhood children come to visit and stay through mealtimes, especially if they live farther away. Recently Sara, my 11 year old charge, has been bringing home a new friend. Like the rest of the kids, she will stay through dinner, though she hardly eats at all. I never paid much attention until two weeks ago Sara informed me her friend struggles with anorexia.

I am afraid I have been insensitive about food issues as I didn't know. I have no experience with children with eating disorders- how can I be sensitive to her? Should I avoid food topics altogether, or should I act normal as if I don't notice?

I figure the best thing I can do is try to reinforce her self esteem in other (non food related) ways. She is a sweet but very timid girl who seems to have a low sense of self worth. Are there any other suggestions? And what do I do at mealtimes

I just turned 18 not long ago and I hear that as you age it is more difficult to lose weight. I was in cross country when I was 15 and loss weight pretty quickly. Now that I'm an elder teen and young adult, I wonder if my chances are still the same... What do you think? Am I able to lose as much as before?

Thanks for reading.

Each time I am worried, scared, or furious, I get this pain in the upper left side of my chest. What is this? The more I think about a situation, the more the pain is there. This must def. be a nervous system symptom or mental symptom. Like today at work, there are these guys who don't know me and said something so ignorant about me. I overheard them. They were so obvious too. And I got the pain there. How do I control this? I wish I could just ignore and be strong. There are times when I can, there are times when I cannot. I suffer from social anxiety and schizophrenia.

I have a severe allergy to neomycin which is an ingredient in Flu Shots, MMR, Polio and other vaccines. However before the allergy was identified I received these vaccines as a child which I believe has caused my chronic respiratory problems (of course doctors are so pro-vaccine that they won't even entertain the idea even though it's been proven that internal exposure to neomycin causes respiratory problems, and on top of that I have a proven allergy to it). Can anyone with knowledge in areas of alternative medicine give me some suggstions on how I can improve my lungs?

I notice that when I sit still for extended periods of time that I get a weird feeling behind my left knee cap. I normally notice it when I go to bed, but I don't believe I have RLS because it is only in that one area on my left leg. It doesn't hurt, it is just really annoying. It feels like someone is pressing their thumb really hard behind my kneecap. If I touch that area, the sensation goes away. It is like the nerves of my skin override the other signal. Lately I have just been placing a pillow on top so I can't feel it. Does anyone know what this is? When I get into bed it will last about 30 minutes to 1 hour. That is the only time I ever feel it.

I've been on the pill for 4 months now, but I have been ill for a two weeks and couldn't get my new box. My boyfriend went to get it for me but they said it has to be me that picks it up because they have to check me over. This has resulted in me missing a week of taking it, is that a problem?
