Not a nutritionist, but I've had some real success since January cutting portions, avoiding soda, and drinking 64oz. or more of water each day. Foods I'd suggest are boiled eggs, half a grapefruit, a piece of whole grain toast or a small bowl of oatmeal with blueberries. A wonderful natural sweetener is Agave Nectar, available at a health foods store. For lunch, I grab a Kashi bar and have a piece of fruit. Might have another piece of fruit in the afternoon or midmorning. Dinner might include a fresh salad, fish or chicken baked or broiled, brocoli, asparagus, green beans. Once a week treat yourself to a small baked potato. These are just some general ideas. The key is not get too hungry throughout the day and then pig out at night. I even have a bite of dessert, and often treat myself to a piece of delicious dark chocolate, letting it slowly melt in my mouth.

I stick with whole natural, plant based foods. After eleven and a half weeks after my daughter was born, I'm down about 22 pounds. I'm only ten pounds heavier than what I was at thebegninning of my pregnancy almost a year ago and I want to lose only about five more as I'm nursing and want to keep some extra weight on for that. I suppose if I had been exercising, the weight loss would have been quicker, but it's cool.
However, I don't "diet". This is my life and part of who I am.

you really shouldn't have to be on a strict diet to lose weight. just eat less and drink only water, no sodas or juice. if u excercise regularly it helps too. but if you do insist on going on an actual diet, here are some options:
Breakfast - some kind of fruit (banana or apple) and, depending on how much time u have, anything from a slice of toast to scrambled egg whites
Lunch - turkey sandwiches are my personal favorite. turkey is a leaner meat than most other deli meats and the sandwich is easy to take with you to work or eat on the run.
Dinner - a palm-sized portion of meat with a side of steamed veggies is best.

Lean Turkey
95% Lean Ground beef
Brown Rice
Sweet Potato
Asparagus
Broccoli
Green Beans
Drink 1 gallon of water daily no other liquids.
Stay away from bread, sugar, fast food and fruit(for the most part). Simple carbs are the enemy!
Hope that helps,
