I just turned 18 not long ago and I hear that as you age it is more difficult to lose weight. I was in cross country when I was 15 and loss weight pretty quickly. Now that I'm an elder teen and young adult, I wonder if my chances are still the same... What do you think? Am I able to lose as much as before?

Thanks for reading.

After you get to be 40 y/o ask this question again, until then quit worrying about it.

Actually, it is not healthy to go up and down in weight. If a person is overweight then by all means lose weight by a healthy means until you are no longer overweight.

It is much better to watch what you eat and stay at a good weight for you. A healthy diet and a healthy exercise plan is forever. That way you won't have to go on crash diets.

By the way; it is possible to get to a healthy weight at any age. One of the reasons that married people over 40 y/o have a harder time with their weight is that they have a lot of work to do with jobs and children and so lead more sedentary lives.

I hope this helps.

Should be able to lose if you want to. Might have to do a little more than running. Your body is still developing and will be for several more years. Once you reach 21 or 22 years of age it will become more difficult. Watch you diet, and regular exercise and should have no problem. Rest has a bearing, so get your beauty sleep on a somewhat regular schedule.

lol Seriously. When I read the question I started formulating an answer aimed at an 80 year old war vet or something.

I was nineteen when I lost 30 pounds and that was the first time I had ever gotten in shape. Up until then I had always been overweight.

Good luck.

if you're 18 it's not about your age you have trouble losing weight. when you're thin your body uses less calories as it has less weight to carry
